What is this "the back" area that customers think exists? It's a corner store the size of a postage stamp. I work everyday and I stock our shelves and I know what's on them. When I say we don't have something, please don't ask me to "check the back." There is no back. There's no magical extra room full of stock we withhold until someone comes looking for it.
