I've been pregnant since February. This pregnancy hasn't been easy for me. I'm frequently tired, emotional and hormonal. And it's made me a home body whenever I'm not working. I turned down the last two of your suggestions to hang out because you kept getting me at a bad time. Sorry I didn't feel like going all the way out to Fall River to come hang out with you for a night. It wasn't just the distance. I just didn't plain feel like it. Then you practically invite yourself over to MY place, stating you'll stop by next Friday. When I told you my husband and I planned to have a quiet night alone that night, you go all diva on me, telling me how lame I've become since I got pregnant. You ragged on me for not asking you how your new job was going, and telling me "The world doesn't revolve around me and my fetus," was very insensitive! I've had a lot on my mind, you know, with expenses and saving money for this child that I'll be giving birth to in November! Whenever I actually do feel like going out somewhere, it's going to be with my HUSBAND! You're the only one out of all my friends who seem to have your nose out of joint about me being pregnant! It's probably because you've never been, and my other friends all have kids so they get it. I'm starting a freakin’ family soon and all you can think about is your career. I never asked you how your job was going?! How about you asking me how I'm feeling? Or if I had any baby names? Or if you could do anything to help?! My other friends have done that! You, on the other hand, are all about going out to dinner, having a drink (I can't freakin’ drink right now, you dolt), showing up at my place at bad times—IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU! I'm being the bad friend, am I? Nah uh, honey, YOU are the bad friend. —Pregnant and At The End Of My Rope

Dear local purveyor of wine, beer and spirits: Please supply only good wine which should be sold in bottles, not cartons. Wine bottles should be corked, not screw-topped. Boxed and screw-topped wine is cheap and dirty. Now I realize that this is Nova Scotia, where even cheaper, dirtier wine is produced and bought by locals with no palate but there are those of us who have taste. Please cater to us as well. —Jesus Sonovabitch

I've loved you unconditionally for more than a decade in fact for close to 20 years. You've abuse me emotionally, taking what you can and have lied continuously. Yet unconditionally means without conditions. I couldn't have stopped loving you. Yet, what you have done was so hurtful, but I don't miss you. I feel angry and confused. All those years...have you always been so insincere? I've given you my youth and you took it; wasted it. I am glad you're gone. I will always love you-but I will never talk to you again. —Bear...just gone

I have a great suggestion in order to make transit better. Fire at least 50% of the bus drivers who have to work either the weekend shifts or the holiday shifts. I normally only take transit on Saturday's and have not had a friendly driver in over a month. I was brought up to say "good morning" and "thank you" and the drivers I have had on the #18 have either ignored me or maybe let out a grunt now and again. I am starting to wonder whether they realized that they would have to deal with the public when driving a public mode of transportation, hmmmm. Metro Transit has got to start implementing a program for their drivers on how to deal with the public. Now I get why I hear so many complaints about bus drivers !!! —justsaying

Do you seriously think everyone wearing a orange work vest is a cartboy? And to tell some complete stranger to put your cart away for you when the cart corral is 5 feet from your car really takes some nerve. It must have surprised you when I told you I didn't work there because you then tried to makeup a medical reason why you can't push that cart 5 feet. If you had the ability to use the cart to shop with, you could push it that extra 5 feet, if not you definitely should not have been driving a car. I see putting your wagon away didn't kill you because you were gone when I came back from the store. —Not My Job

There I was May 17, 6:55 a.m trying to walk to work from Dartmouth to Halifax on the bridge. Only to be stopped rudely by three "security" people who said the bridge was "closed". Closed to pedestrians before 7am??? WTF. Who do they think they are? What about poor people who have no other way to cross Halifax Harbor? What about me who was just trying to get to work at the hospital? No one ought to think they can monopolize use of the bridge. What petty bourgeois nonsense. What arrogance. Guess only fitness matters for the marathoners. The rest of us were just trying to go about our daily lives. Fucking unbelievable. —Switchboard Operator

I have lived and worked all over the world and none merges worse than Halitonians!! In New Zealand there are signs everywhere encouraging people to merge "Like a Zip" and traffic merges super smooth even during rush hour. Merge like a zipper people one for one, do not stop and wait for someone to let you in, do not merge early, and do not let more than one car in at a time!!! —Is a smooth commute too much to ask?!

Think about it: what if you live your life without ever knowing happiness? That would suck. —The Zen Smoker
