Huge shoutout to all the city bus drivers who think they don't need to stop at designated stops to pick up riders, your day will come within 10 years when all buses will be driven by computers!!!!

Not sure how many of you agree with me, but can I just point out that the food reviews in this paper are lackluster? Every paragraph is laid out in the same or similar pattern, like the author follows a CV template: Loosely describe venue, note how many people are in the restaurant, use poor imagery to describe components of the dish, end all paragraphs with a short sentence to make it stand out. Honestly, your review of I Love Pho made me cringe. Wiggly noodles? Smushy noodles? I don't know what you look for when you go for pho, but as someone who grew up eating pho at dingy holes-in-the-wall of a sprawling multicultural triad of cities, that is definitely not how I want my pho or most noodles for that matter. Also, for the Forbidden City article, how many times in a three-sentence paragraph can you describe the same dish with the word "spicy"? Oh, and you know what else is smushy? Shit. —tonguingwithfoodforever

Dear jogging group that stops to rest out front of a craft beer outlet on Agricola: I commend your efforts to live healthier. Now please move your large group of asses off the sidewalk and into the HUGE parking lot directly behind you. Non joggers would like to use the sidewalk to walk on despite it's appeal as a sweaty chat room.

I'm on the 20 bus to downtown when a Muslim woman gets on the bus with her toddler in a stroller. (On a side note, no one in the front seats moved for her so she had to stand in the middle of the isle with her child). Behind me, a conversation goes on about how the woman's baby is “so cute.” The woman behind me says, “Yeah, she's cute until she gets to school and becomes a terrorist.” Oh Halifax, you're a city blinded by this illusion of diversity, tolerance and acceptance. How can it be that a child, no older than three-years-old, be subject to this xenophobic cruelty? Incidents like these are only the tip of the iceberg of systematic and oppressive processes that people of colour, like the Muslim woman and her daughter, experience on a daily basis. —Tired Of This Hate

First of all, I'm not 300 lbs. I weigh a deuce and change. As long as this fat ass fits in a vacant bus seat, I'm gonna take it. You don't like it, go fucking stand. I took the seat between you and the scrawny dude eating his hickory sticks. I sure didn't like the smell of his chip breath, but I didn't sigh and scoff and fume. I kept my mouth shut. A lot of smokers ride the bus, if you don't like the smell, go buy a gas mask and fuck off. Or walk your skinny ass to werk! —Big Bertha

Here is a big fuck you to the three big banks that have decided for themselves that they no longer want money and business from legal businesses. I didn't realize that there was such a moral distinction when it comes to banking and lending practices. After hearing what those people in Sackville are going through, having their business loans called in and having their mortgage and personal accounts cancelled (well, given a whole 30 days to get their accounts cleaned). Absolutely unacceptable, and I for one will be moving my savings, mortgage, loans, CCs, etc... from your shitty bank, and I hope that anyone who will partake in legalized marijuana next year will let the banks know, by way of a massive boycott, that this kind of practice is not cool. With the billions of dollars that are to be made with a burgeoning marijuana industry in this country, I hope someone starts up a Marijuana Bank of Canada, and I'll be your fist pothead customer!! Get fucked "Big Money", YOU are the one who is not welcome here. Let's show them the door!!

Why are there people driving scooters (ie - Vespas) on the sidewalks? Don't they belong on the road? —#scooterfail

We as citizens of Halifax Regional Municipality should be demanding much more from our Mayor and Councillors. Are we tired of the lack of garbage cans and filth throughout our city? Are we tired of the lack of benches at bus stops not to mention lack of bus shelters? Are we tired of waiting for buses in the rain, sleet, snow, cold and wind? Are we tired of jumping over snow banks to get on or off buses most of the winter? Are we tired of the half assed job the companies the city contracts out to clear our streets and sidewalks of snow and ice do? Well are we? They don't care about our well being or our safety because they do not have to take these buses and therefore are oblivious to our plights. I propose that everyone who can vote in the upcoming election calls the Mayor and their councilor and demand that they take transit to work a determined amount of days per month as well as Transit management. If not complied with, offenders should be penalized as a deduction on their salary. I think maybe if this should ever happen we would see a remarkable improvement in the clearing of snow and ice. Imagine, seniors with walkers, people in wheelchairs, etc, could actually go outside and take a bus in the winter! Are we tired of the status quo? You bet we are. Let's do something about it. Things don't change because we roll over and take whatever they dish out. If enough of us yell long and loud enough, things will change. They have to.

Well, Ottawa has decided to jam it's carbon pricing scheme down our throat. Nova Scotia has already explained to them that because our incomes are low and some of us rely heavily on oil to heat our homes, Nova Scotia has invested heavily in it's own homegrown strategy for the environment. BUT it looks like the Liberal feds aren't listening to their provincial brothers. Ottawa's plan should work for ontario ns wit their abundance of hydro power and gas sipping cars. And, anything will work in Alberta with their higher income oil patch jobs. BUT Justin Trudeau hasn't considered what it will be like for a Nova Scotian to fork out a carbon tax on an already $800 oil tank fill up. —you can talk to them but they are too self centered to listen
