I've explored most of Canada, and in no other town do I get as many smiles returned as in Halifax. And in saying that, I love you Halifax.

Lots of love to the student union of NSCAD for voting to reduce their own wages in order to better fund the quality services that they provide to the students they represent. It's refreshing to see that not all student unions are corrupt and self-aggrandizing (I'm looking at you, DSU)

Dear rural Nova Scotia (and especially Cape Breton),
You have no idea how much you mean to me. You offer refuge, natural beauty, and repose from an otherwise peninsular, isolated, falsely prideful and Hitler-esque 'city' (but Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville and Spryfield - you're alright). If it weren't for you I could never bear being here.

this is for the nicest lady ever who comes into our coffee shop a few times per week to get her medium coffee with "lots of 1% milk & 1 and a half sugar" :) you are always in a great mood with the prettiest smile ive ever seen, i really appreciate your kindness; it totally makes me feel happy to be at work. Thank you for always using your manners and being so polite!! I always look forward to making your coffee just to see you smile, you are great!

To the person who found my wallet on Quinpool road on Monday evening. I lost it leaving Freeman's and didn't notice until I got to the liquor store. When I asked an employee if they had seen it around, the man in line told me he was just at VD and someone had turned in a wallet. Sure enough it was mine. Thanks so much both to the person who found the wallet and the man in line who told me where to find it.

thanks for putting up with us coming in hungover and looking terrible (and probably smelling like booze) every saturday. thanks for putting up with us being noisy and stupid. thanks for dealing with our indecisiveness and messiness with patience, humor and your lovely smile. you (and the vegan b-fasts) are definitely one of the reasons we keep coming back.
