On behalf of the ladies on my softball team:

To the lovely lady on the opposite team who thought she was hidden in the bushes for a pee... Guess what!!

So for future reference, because I'm a good guy, I will volunteer to stand behind you next time so that our ladies won't be so embarrassed.

I hope your not em-bare-assed, I'm here for you... —Luvin' mixed league softball!

Four long years I waited for our reunion. Our time together is almost up and I have to say it was a very interesting (and sometimes very surprising) visit. Right from day one you decided to leave me with a very nasty taste in my mouth. No harm done, I thought; it was exactly the same beginning as four years ago. But then you just kept throwing up one intriguing result after the other and my eyebrows were raised... And even if others (most....) said that you were too noisy, I welcomed it and accepted it as simply, "how things were going to be" this time around.

Now it is almost time for you to go and although you made it known that things were NOT going to wind up the way I wanted them to, you have still left me with a very pleasant experience and feeling like things were a success... no matter what happens this weekend.

Hopefully next time I can come and see you... it would definitely be a trip to remember and while I would still have to allow for you to have your way, simply being there would be worth it. That said, less than two years before I can watch your preparations begin all over again. It truly does become sweeter and sweeter each and every time. There is no wonder people refer to your game as the beautiful one.

I am hoping you show up in orange this weekend, and after that... (hopefully) see you in Rio! —Allez les bleus

I have no idea who you are. I found the note you left in my mailbox weeks after you'd already moved out. Had I found it sooner, I would have come up. —Basement Girl

To the incredible, lovely fashionistas at Halifax's best clothing/quirky trinket store on Argyle Street. You guys always make my day.

As an avid shopper of your store, I am always left smiling by the unpretentiousness, graciousness, humour and above all love of fashion that each of you possess and today was no exception.

From remembering past purchases to just chit chatting about holidays, you are hands down the best retail staff in this city and it is appreciated. —The Dude in the Vest

To my little (former) red headed radiator, these long summer months are especially long and lonely with you. I miss the days of waking up next to you and laughing about how wild the previous night was, and the anticipation of you strolling down the lane from your house to mine! September couldn't end quicker, when I'll be reunited with you for longer than several days. —Silly Tits

I was greatly saddened when I found out you folks would be shutting your doors forever and thought that you should know that you very often brightened my day with great literature and cheap, delicious coffee. The staff were always around for a great title suggestion or a chat about the positive attributes of anarchy.

So thanks to all the happiness you brought to my life during your time on Quinpool Road. You will be greatly missed... —Stuck Inside The Lines

Dear Destiny:

Thank you for the cloud that rained down a singular ash, an ash that formed a magnetic field that drew closest to my heart. When I’m with you I feel happiness at its fullest. Your presence cancels out the negatives on the mind and draws in the positives that you give off. You’re more beautiful than a full moon on a clear night sky, and I now believe that there is someone perfect out there for everyone.

I will stand by your side through anything. I love you. <3 —Evets

When I saw you at the car show, my heart skipped a beat, I went again for the donuts yesterday, but saw you again, and am done sir, I havnt been able to get you out of my head.

You are my dream man, from your horned rimmed glasses to your overalls and chucks. I wish I went up to you and asked your name and gave you mine, but instead of words coming out, you got giggles and blushing.

I hope to get up there again and try to talk to you again soon, but you make me hopelessly flustered. xo —Ladie in the cherries

This love goes out to a very nice bus driver on the 2 on Wed night. I was stuck working till 1130 that night and had a called a cab that failed to show up after 30 minutes. Knowing that there was an 80 due to come, I sauntered over to the bus stop hoping that the I didn't miss it. The #2 bus came and I asked if the 80 was coming anytime soon. The driver said he wasn't sure but that he would wait for a few extra minutes to see if it's late. I was a little distraught as it was already a long day and it was bound to get longer, and I didn't want to walk alone down Robie at midnight. Just as the driver was about to pull off, he caught sight of the 80 and let me know/flagged down the bus to stop for me.

Thank you Mr Bus Driver. You made a very shitty night so much better. I was having such a bad night but your kindness in waiting meant a lot to me. —Lonely girl bus rider

I must admit I am in a very foul mood at the moment... though I can't very well leave alone the fact that as I pull into the Antigonish Tims last night with my muffler having been dragged behind me for 20 odd minutes, several people there came over and helped me prop it up enough to be able to drive back to the city... albeit loudly. One guy even ripped strips off the shirt on his back to be able to tie it up and secure it enough.

To boot, I then offered them coffee/donuts/cold beverages from Tims to which they replied, "naw, we're good".

THANK YOU... while it blew goat-nads that it happened... you are truly, genuinely, very nice and helpful people. I have a new-found love for Antigonish now... where once I thought it only annoying that I have to stop at lights on a highway. I will now enjoy every time I need to stop in there.

Thanks so much!

Now... back to being a miserable wreck... —Amherzt citiZenz rule
