When I met you you were reading this paper beside me, so I hope this gets to you: For most of this year, I have been feeling a bit jaded to the majority of the female gender. Burned, to put it lightly. Our 3 hour conversation ended abruptly, but left me reassured that there are good women out there. You're a class act, and a wonderful conservationist. I didn't want to go, but I'm so happy I met you. Until next time. —A friend of a friend

I'd like to thank all the organizers and participants off Nocturne! Saturday was incredible. People were open minded, smiling, happy and truly appreciating the art culture we have in Halifax and beyond. As a returning volunteer I was thrilled to give back to the Halifax community though this event and enjoyed being a part art at night.
Now, let's not forget to explore art the rest of the year! Keep your eyes, ears, and minds open. Thank you Nocturne for the yearly reminder and see you next year! —Supporting the arts...one night at a time

Hey Halifax,
If you had 160 million dollars to finance a revitalization of the downtown core, how would you spend it?
Include ideas, initiatives, organizations, and whatever all else, you would support - and why you think they're important. We can create a strong strategy incubator, just by putting our thoughts out there, to oppose a lump sum expenditure on one convention centre - with a diverse and comprehensive proposal in its place!
Speak up, Halifax!
How would YOU strengthen the economy, create a sense of community, foster a safe environment?
Email submissions to [email protected] and spread the joy - forward this on to your friends and fellow citizens.
Lets collaborate and create a proposal for Halifax that will blow a 160 million dollar bid for a convention centre out of the harbour water! And usher in a new downtown core full of improvements we can feel good about. —Concerned for business owners, not developers

To the lovely ladies who found a phone at the Seahorse this weekend and returned it to my home the next day. Thanks for working hard at getting my phone back to me. Your karma is through the roof!
A big shout out to the many lovely friends we have in common as well - Halifax is full of great people, I am lucky to know so many of them. —Knows the right people

You, beautiful curly hair. Big eyes. White scarf, 3 girlfriends. I didn't belong there, but the few songs spent with you made it worth it. —Oct 16th

You should know that I love you, and have loved you since we met playing that game. I'm sorry that it took me so long to get back in touch after we split, but I'm glad you're giving being friends a chance again. —The Frog Prince

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bus Drivers of route 41:
You say good morning to me when I rush to class, you hold up the bus for that routine late student making an effort to get to you, you have the common courtesy to say thank you even though I show you my student ID every day. I wish there were more public servants like you. —Happy Queen street passenger

As much as I bitch every day (in my head) about the Hfx drivers, I have to thank the van and truck behind me on the newly paved section of the 102 today.
They were paying attention, noticed, and backed off when I hydroplaned, COMPLETELY lost control of the car, went back and forth (sideways at times) across the two lanes and came within an INCH (no lie!) of the concrete divider, not once, not twice, but THREE freakin' times!
Thanks for not plowing into me before I regained control!
And more importantly, thanks Dad, for being on my shoulder when I needed you most. Again. —Outta Control Chick
