I love you. I loved you then, I love you now, and I'll always love you. And in case you ever question it, forget it, or wonder about it, just look in your jacket pocket and you'll see my love again. Can we be bath buds forever? —Your Young Lady Friend

"A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks."-Charles Gordy

Gordy couldn't have been more correct, although for some of us out there, the very smiles we wear on our face every day are priceless. To the creator of my smile... I have been meaning to get in contact with you for years now, and each time I end up telling myself you're likely too busy. I'll get there though- and I will sit down and discuss with you just how important you are to me, expressing my gratitude for every day I have been able to count as a blessing during this journey through life. This day will be very soon, as even my subconscious is telling me to do so presenting me with the gift of a very vivid dream last night during which I ended up at your office. Some may decipher my references, although I hope everyone can see just how sincere this proclamation is. You will always be one of the favorite people in my world, for your artistry has played a key role in my determination that life is, indeed, PRECIOUS. —The hip bone's connected to the jaw bone

I love reading, Love the Way We Love, in every issue of The Coast. Every once in a while you'll find a nice comment that you think is about you, even though it can be any girl in Halifax! I was having a pretty shitty day, until I read The Coast. Even though I'm sure there are plenty of girls who have friends that wear leather jackets that get on the #1, guy in grey, you made my day and put a smile on my face. Thank you. —Just a simple girl

I first met you on the bus and our eyes met our smiles. Seems so strange that we keep running into each other time and time again. Like the other day when you gave me my first win at roll up the rim. I had been buying at least two coffees a day since the start and had yet to win. This leads me to think you must be of Irish descent, a Caleigh (slim and fair) girl with smile much like a horse shoe, lucky. I love your lucky smile and hope that if you read this it brings some joy to your heart to keep that smile going. —Lover of a Lucky Smile

To my new friend: I know you don't want anything serious, so I put on a serious, tough guy, casual relationship appearance when I am with you. But I want you to know, if there is one thing I want in this world right now, it is to be with you. You're the coolest gal I know. Maybe you'll read this, maybe you won't. But at least I told somebody. —Mstrncgy

I'm really excited to see you tomorrow, I can't help but laugh every time you smile. I want to be where you are, you remind me of all the good stuff back home and all the even better stuff in my new adopted city. I've seemed to found my way out of this and you were waiting on the other side. —It was worth it

To the wonderful dude who gave my boyfriend and I a lift after I slipped on some ice in front of your car that awful Monday evening... thank you so much! People like you make me love Halifax more and more. You were so kind, and it was greatly appreciated. I hope we meet again. —Green jacket girl with the pot head boy

We miss you more than Michael Bay missed the mark when he made Pearl Harbor. We miss you more than that movie missed the point and that's an awful lot, fille d'agonie. And now, you've been away a week and all we're trying to say is - Pearl Harbor sucked, and we miss you. We need you like Ben Affleck needs acting school. He was terrible in that film and your back hurts. We need you like Cuba Gooding needed a bigger part. He's way better than Affleck and we miss your funny links. And now all we can think about is your warmth and humour and that shitty movie, too. Pearl Harbor sucked and we miss you. Rooo. —Team Ivan - Bitcher's Police

I've been away from the fair city of Halifax for a couple of years now, and above all, I miss the pedestrian traffic. I can't believe how much consideration drops when you go one province west. Here, no one moves to offer you more room on the sidewalks, more than once I've been stuck standing in a snowbank because the two people walking toward me can't be bothered to walk single file for a few feet. I was recently back in Halifax and it was walking bliss, people always moved on to one side of the sidewalk, and I wasn't left feeling like a dog being pushed into the snow. I miss all you Haligonian amblers and your considerate ways, I hope I'll be able to come back soon. —Soggy Boots
