I would like to send some love and praise to all the good tippers out there! Thank you for understanding that in Canadian culture, it is custom to express your satisfaction with the meal, service and overall experience by leaving a little extra money to the staff at the restaurant. This money not only goes to your server, but also the person who washes your dirty dishes, the people who prepared your meal, the person who showed you to your seat, and in many cases to the person who prepared any drinks you may have enjoyed. Thank you for understanding that these days a tip of 15% is considered a good tip and that anything less than 10% is interpreted as if you did not enjoy your time at the restaurant. Also, I appreciate that you recognize that waitresses and waiters are working this job to make tips. If we wanted to work for minimum wage, we probably would have taken a job that is less physically and mentally strenuous and high-stress like serving is. So thank you so much to those who show their appreciation after a good meal by giving a good tip. It's the right thing to do. If it was a bad time, that's fine, don't leave a good tip—just don't be a cheapskate to a server who deserves better! And to all of you bad tippers out there, remember that chicks don't dig guys who don't tip and visa versa. What goes around comes around and all that junk. So, let this be a tip on good tipping for you! Thank you! —A Tired Waitress

To the woman working at a cafe & bakery on Waverley Road who saved my dinner: Me being dumb and put a dish of lasagna on the roof of my van while unlocking it, left it there while driving away. The woman sprinted out the door and caught me at the corner. Anyone who values their customers that much deserves more business. Oh and the cookies are AWESOME there. —Glitch

A huge thank you to the group of surfers and their friends who spent last Sunday conducting a very thorough clean-up of Lawrencetown Beach. You accumulated an impressive mountain of garbage bags as well as broken lobster pots, old tires, pieces of plywood and other debris. Your work makes the beach even more beautiful for all of us to enjoy. You are excellent role models for the rest of us. —Merrymac

I think you're wonderful. I've had a thing for you for a little while, but after the few dates with your friend, it would be tacky to pursue anything with you. I had my chance all those moon ago and let it pass me by. Now that things are said and done and you have a girlfriend and I have gone out on a series of dates with your friend, I doubt it will ever happen for us. So I'm moving on, despite being able to see us happily married, with kids, and eventually sitting on a porch on a nice sunny day in our twilight years, watching our grandchildren play. I just want you to know, before I shut the feelings off, how wonderful you are. You are kind, decent, incredibly intelligent and someone I'll always root for. Thanks for existing. You make the world a better place just by being in it. —Goodbye Girl

Did you see it? Cyclist + car on Feb. 24th @ 1 pm at Dresden Row & Sackville. Did you see the car making a left turn, cutting off the cyclist, forcing her to bail/crash? There was a pretty, mid-to-late 30s brunette who saw, asked if I was okay. Do you know her? Are you her? Thank-you to those who stopped and asked if I was okay and picked up everything that flew from my bike, bag and pockets. I was in shock, and wish I had asked for any of your contact information, because I'm trying to have the driver ticketed. —My Fair Ticket Lady

To the oh so adorable, music store employee in HSC, who wears the orange skinny jeans and has the grooviest hair... I can't help but have a total 7th grade crush on you. —I Want You *Blushing*

We were in a downtown Chinese restaurant just after lunch yesterday. We were together, separately. What you would normally order was out of stock, so you tried the ginger beef on the waitress's recommendation. We faced each other, tables apart.
All I could think was you looked like a very nice Dominant Daddy who could give a girl a nice spanking... and suddenly what I wanted wasn't on the menu. Thanks for the fantasy. —The Hotter the Better

Long story short: you invited us into your backyard hippie campfire circle/dance party even though you didn't know us at all. Had a blast with total strangers and it was pretty much the best random party I've ever been to. The full DJ kit on the back deck blasting out dubstep was a nice touch. Hope you enjoyed the grog! —Little Stick

I love my boy. He is not like other men; he is thoughtful and not ashamed to show his feelings. He treats me like an equal. He is passionate about his beliefs and breathes positivity. He's been my rock through many dark times and knows how to make me laugh when the grey clouds roll around. I am so lucky to have him and thankful everyday for the seven years and counting. —Chippy

Summer is coming and those hot Metro Transit drivers in their hot shorts, ah ah ah. What could brighten up your hot summer day more than boarding a Metro Transit bus and seeing Mr. Perky peeping out at you? Cannot wait! —In Heat
