To the blonde haired young lady who requested twice to take a pic with me. Please come back and we can take the picture you wanted. My sincere apologies. —A Street Musician

I thought about writing all of the memories I have of us. I thought about infusing inside jokes and our sarcastic quips. I thought about commenting on the places we have been and the places we wanted to go. But everything I want to say can be all summed up in one truly honest, simple sentence: I miss the shit out of you. —Raisin Fox

Hey government, there aren't many things I wish to thank you for lately, but I will give credit where it is due. I really did need that GST poor person's savings credit or whatever you call it (let's face it, it's for poor people). I was down to $0.75 for another 14 days until that came in the mail, by chance, at the very last minute. Thanks for randomly issuing that cheque. With unemployment so high, it's likely I'll keep needing it for a few more years until my skills and education can serve this province. But until then, thanks. I couldn't have gone another day without food. —Good Timing

To the lovely woman who cut my hair, many thanks. Sorry it was such a mess and for babbling on about nothing. You mentioned you liked combing hair because it looked like textiles, my hair was transformed from a burlap bag to silk. —A Good Witch

Are you a Metro Transit bus driver? Do you have red hair? I think that you are awesome. —Remembering Me

Your support and help in transitioning me into my new home is probably the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. And you all came out in a body with food, furniture, wheels and love. I haven't even had a chance to feel scared or overwhelmed because you've been there every step of the way with love, laughter and kitty litter. You guys are the best kind of people. I love you all. You're all invited for an evening of fine dining and Fat Bastard. On me. —Crouching Tiger

I hated Halifax before meeting you. But within a week of our winter wonderland affair I was in love—with the city—and finally with life; even though we didn’t fall in love like that. You had endless patience with me. And we had local beer and music and star-gazing on Citadel with the frosty ground beneath us. But, it was all too much for me. And I broke, and went away without saying goodbye. I’m a South End gal and you’re a North End boy, and that is the way it will always be. That was 2 years ago. After a triumphant return I came back and still loved Haligonia just as much. Now, I have officially left for good to further my career - and I am still in love with Halifax, its people, its culture(s) and its sweet awkward ways. It’s because of you I found my second home. It is because of you I have the bittersweet ability to wholly miss Halifax each and every day. And I do miss it, I do, so much. —Northern Belle

We lived together for three weeks, you left this afternoon, and now I miss you more than I can describe. You need to come back so we can make more pasta and pick more flowers and walk all day and sing fanatically down the sidewalk as we realize we know a lot of the same songs. I love you, and I can't wait for you to come back home. —Damn Birds

Dear Ginger Commander (Apr 21), Gingers rule! They are the most beautiful creatures. Whenever I see a woman with lustrous luxuriant red locks, my heart goes a-pitter-patter. Green eyes are a bonus. —Male Fan of Gingers

Holy shit, do I ever love you. I can't believe how lucky I am to be with you... waking up next to you every morning is like living in some beautiful fantasy world. You're the strangest and most incredible person I've ever met, and I never thought I'd get this lucky with a boyfriend. —Ridiculously Happy
