After getting so few occasions for quality time, I finally got real quality time with my daughter on a weekend trip. I hadn't put her to bed in years and it makes my eyes well up when I think of reading her bed-time stories and being there when she wakes up. I was a doting dad again, checking to make sure she wasn't too cold or hot in the middle of the night. Mothers everywhere, please give (ex bf) dads a chance. I love you, daughter with all my heart. The time we've had is so rich with joy, the purest relationship I will ever know with another human being. I know you miss me just as much because of the games you remember that are your favourites, the drawings you like to show me that I know are inspired by the haunted house we went through and stuff. We are just ourselves together and I miss you constantly. It's nice to have freedom from being a parent 24/7, but doing the simple things for my young daughter is what really makes my life worth living. Please, reader, be considerate of the other parent.
