To the Metro Transit driver driving the 20 yesterday afternoon---thank you. Thank you for remaining calm and courteous to all of the passengers, even when they didn't show you the same respect. Thank you for getting me home safely. Thank you for being calm when other drivers cut you off. Thank you for the smile. —An Appreciative Transit User

Even though my bus was late yesterday during the snow storm, the bus did come, and it got me---and others---home safe. Thank you for putting other buses on and for giving us somewhere warm and dry and safe to be while we got to where we needed to be. —Home Safe

To the wonderful bridge commissionaire on the day of the snowstorm, I thank you. My gas light came on after an hour of crawling to the toll station and there was still an hour of crawling afterwards. I waved you over and told you how worried I was about running out of gas on the bridge. You told me not to worry and quickly retrieved a gas canister and filled my tank with enough gas to get through the stressful crossing home. Wow. Thank you for that warm and caring gesture after what was, no doubt, a stressful day for you and all those around you. Thank you. —Almost Running on Empty

I never thought that someone like you,
could make me feel the way that you do,
even though you ain't my style,
when I'm near you I have to smile,
never had a man treat me so right,
even though you never spend the night,
so this is your warning, big, bad Buck
I'm gonna say I love you, the next time we fuck
Until then I'll keep it moist,
and hope you'll make me the scoundrel's choice.

Thanks to the dude with the 'beer' belly for the ten bucks and buying that lady her smokes. She was pretty happy about that and so was I. Although I probably should have said something better than 'just pay my rent' when you asked me what I would do with a thousand dollars. That was really awesome though! I'll do what I can to make the ten bucks you gave me make as many people as possible happy! —Would Have Taken My Girlfriend on the Best Date Ever

Dear geeks who run Hal-Con, I just wanted to say that I think you're doing a bang-up job. I had an amazing time the other weekend, and although there were a couple minor kinks and I may have disagreed with some of your costume contest results, all in all you are kicking some ass. And are none of you drawing a salary at all? That blows my mind. You all clearly worked so hard. Thank you! —Couldn't Be a Prouder Halifax Geek!

To the teacher who called me out on my BS- thank you. Even though I felt terrible, I deserved it. And thank you for being so kind in our meeting. There needs to be more people like you. —Misguided Student

Yesterday I was running through Point Pleasant Park. It was dark, cold, and windy, and just as I was thinking about cutting my run short a stranger reached out and gave me an enthusiastic high-five. What a day-brightener! Thanks for perking me up, putting a smile on my face, and giving me the energy to finish my long shuffle across town. —Redheaded Runner
