I read so many complaints in the bitch column about bad drivers in this city. I've gotten pretty worked up myself about some of them.
But I do have to say something positive. If you've ever driven around in a large city. One thing you see a lot of... car accidents. Not so around Halifax. Sure the occasional one, but for the most part this city, with all its beefs in traffic, is still a safe city to drive around in. So for all the considerate drivers out there, thank you. I for one am happy to live in a "low accident zone". —Going With the Flow
To the girl in fishnets, blue pumps and red panties on Spring Garden the other night; I was having the worst night 'til I saw you strut down the sidewalk like it was your runway. You worked that outfit, and it's great to see someone do something that different. But I do hope you know, you need pants to fly. —Nice to Smile
It's about time someone kicked those bums out of our parks. They were a bunch of squatters who just used protesting as a reason to setup a tent city. A lot of people support this eviction despite what the media says. —Occupy a Job

To my thoughtful colleague who phoned me this morning (Wednesday) to offer to take me to lunch just because he hadn't seen me in awhile: your gesture has really brightened what has otherwise been a pretty bleak few weeks. I get really awkward when people offer to buy things for me so I'm not sure I articulated it very well on the phone, but I just wanted to say an enormous thank you for the friendly reminder that there are some wonderful people in this big, bad world.
