To the crossing guards at North and Dublin and also at Chebucto and Harvard. I'm 20 and don't really need to be helped across the street but it is still nice to have someone stop traffic for me once in a while. Like today in the rain when you stopped the cars and we had our little chat on the sidewalk. Its nice to stop for a couple minutes and talk, even on a rainy Tuesday morning. I can see why a crossing guard is needed on North as the cars almost never stop to let me cross so I appreciate you being out there to help me. Thank you so much. —Just Trying to Cross the Street

Sending some love to all the bus drivers of the Metro Transit. So many people depend on the bus every day to get them to work, school, downtown, or a friend's house and I feel we don't give the bus drivers enough credit. Sure you may be late sometimes, you might stall in snow storms, and you can be crowded but that's not usually your fault. I can almost always depend on a bus to get me where I need to go. We tend to take the bus system for granted but many people would miss the bus system if it were to stop running. I know I would. —One of Many Everyday Bus Riders

Before I met you I didn't believe there was one for me out there. I didn't believe in love or soulmates. to meet someone who understands me and to meet someone I understand... it's the best gift life could give me. Life is new and fresh, full of happiness and pleasure. I will hold onto you forever. You are the best, you make me my best. —Sweet Cakes

I was having a horrible day. You know, the day you wake up late, don't have time for breakfast, miss your bus, your hair's a mess and you're late for wok (and that's just the first hour). We all get those days. My day was getting seemingly worse. But on to 2 separate occasions 2 women went out of their way to tell me I have beautiful eyes. 1 even attempted to argue I wore contacts. That made me laugh. It made me feel better about myself. And made my day a little brighter. I got some much needed smiles that day and I thank you guys for it. —Green Eyes

I'm glad my last love has inspired so much debate. The identity of the bitcher and the garcon still remains my dirty little secret that will only be revealed if garcon guesses both I.D.s. I don't think we would be good serious daters or casual daters but I think we would rock it between the sheets. What do you say? —Fellow Bitcher

To the folks who organized, made donations to and/or attended a benefit auction at a little place on the waterfront on Saturday night... what an amazing night for a family and little man dealing with challenges that they could not control. I am not part of the family but, as a mama, it made my heart happy to feel the love in the room that night. And, although I wasn't the winning bidder (but oh so close) on one of those jerseys signed by a local guy who just so happened to score a goal that was absolutely golden ... I still left with a smile on my face. Thanks to all who helped to make a difference that night, but most of all... I send wishes of health and happiness to the little man that has made his way into the hearts of people whom he's never met. —Just a Mama

To the redhead on the bus who has impeccable taste in music, you are the kind of girl I need to know. The few minutes we talked brightened up my day. Nice to know there are still some wonderful people out there. —Subterranean Homesick Blues
