Sometimes life thows you a curveball and you have to address things that need to be said before it's too late. I am sorry that I made your life difficult. I am sorry that I behaved badly. I am sorry it took me too long to let go. Be happy, find your path, keep smiling, and enjoy life. —Ms. C.

This is a sincere shout out to all my gorgeous, intelligent huge-hearted girlfriends who have been here for me through thick and thin, sickness and health. I keep trying to tell you all how very grateful I am for your support through the last terrible year of my life. Through surgery, chemo, radiation and the aftermath, you buoyed me with food, wine, flowers, visits and so much love and laughter that you healed me of cancer as much as my medical team. May each of you receive the blessings you bestowed on me tenfold! I love and thank you all so much!! —Fucked Cancer

I met you at a party on the weekend, I found you super charming and hilarious. You offered me your sock as a parting favour, I wish that I had accepted it, and gotten your number as well. Hopefully I'll run into you sometime. —Disappointing Heart Button

We're thrown into this world without having a say about the matter, then we have to face a life-long series of struggles like getting our hearts broken, worrying about what others think of us, making sure we have enough food to feed our family and ourselves, dealing with the fact that our bodies are slowly decaying..etc, etc. AND we have to do all of this knowing that we're going to die but we don't know when, or how, its going to happen.
So, props to everyone who gets out of bed every (or at least some) days and does what they can to live an authentic, meaningful, and peaceful life in spite of it all. —Existential Crisis (Partially) Averted

On a daily basis I find myself amazed at how I landed such a wonderful person to share my life with. You're smart, sexy, caring, affectionate and I am completely and totally in love with you, and the best part is... you're in love with me too! I honestly don't know how I landed such a great guy. You put up with my shit on a daily basis and love me passionately despite all of my terrible flaws and insecurities. Thanks for sticking by me. My love for you is truly infinite. — Lucky Lady

I'm an exchange student from New Zealand and on my first night in Halifax I went to the supermarket to grab some dinner. As a tourist, I was excited by the lobsters and when I saw a giant helium lobster balloon I thought I must have it! The weight holding it down said $1.29 which I thought was an absolute bargain but at the check out it turned out that was just the price of the weight, the balloon was actually $10. The friendly shop assistant said she would put it back for me but came back a minute later and said the manager said it was a gift for me and welcomed me to Halifax. So a shout out to Joseph Howe Superstore for the best welcome ever! —Kiwi girl

As a newly licensed driver, I'm still adjusting to parking lots. You were sitting in your car watching my struggle as I tried not to hit the two cars next to me and I couldn't have been more grateful when you came over and offered to park my car for me. It's people like you that make Halifax such an amazing place so thank you! Some good karma is coming your way. —I'm a good driver I swear!

To the sweet guy who walked over to my car and gave me his parking ticket with time left on it, thank you so much! My friend is down visiting and it made her remember how nice people from Halifax can really be. I know you probably didn't give it a second thought after the fact, but it really made my day! Thanks again :) —gold sentra
