You've been the love of my life so far, and now you treat me like a stranger. I know I messed up. But it's a dagger in my heart whenever I see you and you give me the cold shoulder. I wish I could talk to you—or that I had a time machine. —CJM

You are the hottest thing I've ever seen on a deck. Your skin glowed, even on the cloudiest day, and you had the perfect mix of sex appeal and "Fuck You" attitude. If I had more balls, I would love to ask you out...I hope you travel on the 60 more often, maybe I'll grow a pair...—Lost In Transition

Had to move back, after only 16 months in the amazing place that stole my heart. HRM, you may be inaccessible as hell for those of us with multiple disabilities, but your beauty, your amazing people who care, your amazing bus drivers, the amazing places we got to explore, being able to volunteer at Blue Nose, Pride, Buskers, Tattoo, MS Walk, among other things, made our time easier. I am so sad we couldn't stay, but health wise, we had to leave, as no specialists there. Have been back in Ontario since Oct. 13, was homeless eight months, went through hell and back, but now, finally have a place. It’s hard, leaving a piece of your heart, as you are forced to leave a beautiful place you have fallen in love with. But the memories will never die, just fade into happy thoughts when the days get long and cold here. I will never forget you Dartmouth; your trails, your library that became our second home, your amazing bus drivers, the little stores we came to love, the tight knit community of people across the water, at HOPE COTTAGE, and St Mary's Meals drop in. You both made us feel so welcome in our time of need. I'll never forget Paul. Miss you, your love of photography, your love of helicopters, your love of the boardwalk. You were a great friend. I'm sorry we didn't get to say goodbye, but it was so hard to even say goodbye to the city I'll love for the rest of my life. I got to know my amazing husband there, got married and have so many pictures, so many memories. And who can forget the FERRIES!! (nothing like them out here, NOTHING). Dartmouth III (who survived a horrific April Wine concert), Halifax II (many memories made on this ferry), Woodside I (the almost new kid on the water). Dartmouth/Halifax, we'll be back to visit. We don't know when, but it’s going to happen. I love you HRM. —blindwheels

I saw you as you were hiking out from Purcell's Pond a few weeks ago. I saw that you had a sweet Charles Burns tattoo on your arm. I wanted to say "sweet tattoo," but I missed the opportunity. —A dream girl

This is a massive long-shot, but you with your sweater made of doilies and me with my bad jokes, the scintillating conversation flowed. Yet it caused a momentary lapse of reason and I neglected to get your digits. Maybe we can cross paths at a relatively similar time and location some subsequent evening and continue our flirting... —Sparkly-eyed Guy

Thanks for the great conversation! And the added security of your carry-on, in case of the emergency water landing. ;) And on behalf of my son, who would have been super sad without Effy, (as well as myself, not having a weepy little boy at the end of a long, long trip day ending well past bed-time), thank-you for saving his favourite stuffy from being lost. My sunglasses weren't so lucky. I got caught up with the end game of luggage and keeping my ducks together and wanted to have another word with you (many, many more actually), but when I turned around you had skedaddled. I've always thought of my current house as that stereotypical albatross around the neck, so, thanks for enlightening me on that. —Mr. 13C

Playing tourist in our own town, we meandered for the first time into Nova Scotia Crystal, where a cheerful, intelligent, knowledgeable, engaging staffer named Sarah made it crystal clear why we moved here from B.C. Loved your energy! —Local Ladies

I can't believe it's been only two months since we met at gate 28. We've managed to create many amazing memories in such a short period of time! I am so happy to be spending your birthday together and I hope that you'll like this little reminder of Halifax. Bonne fête mon cher! —the occasionally dehydrated eyelash-batting runner :)
