I've been here for a little over a week going to school. I just wanted to give a big shout out to the city so far for their kindness. I'm happy to live here and this place could not be more inviting! Much LOVE. —The City of Halifax

To the curly haired theatre student @ King's. You seem so cool. I wish my mind wasn't racing, like my pulse that evening. I might not have said some of the sillier things.
Halifax doesn't have the canal to skate on, but it has many great things to do. I hope some time we can meet again.
I never did find my friends, but I had a nice brisk skate. They must have peaced before I arrived. C'est la vie. Such are the vagaries of planning on FB. —redbeard

A number of months ago, I had dinner at your restaurant with a colleague. (Your pasta was delicious, by the way.) I accidentally left my dark green [brand omitted] backpack there, and when I realized I'd lost it, I was pretty sure that I'd last seen it at your place. Now, my mother bought this backpack sometime in the late-80s, and used it for much of her career as a schoolteacher. I used it for much of high school and all of my undergraduate and post-graduate years. It has earned some sentimental value. I put off contacting you for months because I was terrified that I'd lost it for good and didn't want to get the final confirmation. When I finally did get in touch, you indicated right away that it was sitting in your Lost and Found bin. I picked it up that day and couldn't have been more relieved. —I don't usually feel this way about inanimate objects

I always see so many attractive people at the new library. Ask me to recommend a book and maybe we'll carry on over to tea at Pavia! —browsing for more than books

I couldn't stopped happy crying-laughing out of sheer surprise-joy-heartmelt at seeing you, silly enormous puppy giant, just flaking out in the snow by your lonesome you precious gem baby bear booboo. I wanted to ask you if I could pet you and search out the answer in the amber pools of earnest light that were yer eyepeeps. But I was too dumbstruck by your majesty to make a move. We called you bear. I want to spoon you in front of a fireplace, make you sweaters and locally sourced dog treats. I hope our paths cross again. —Puppylove

Your smile is like the sun; I'm turning my face to your warmth. Your hand on my arm was tender and magical. You filled my heart with a gentle fire on the Winter Solstice. —Sunflower

You are a strong, beautiful, resilient young woman. You've seen your fair share of BS recently and persevered. You will continue to do so and your friends will have your back. We will help you. We will protect you. We will nurture you when you need it. You only need let us do so. YOU ARE STRONG... —Your neighbor and friend...

I served you take-out at a downtown Thai restaurant tonight. We talked about bad movies and our mutual love of Sharknado. You were charming and exciting and I would love to see you again. —E
