Thanks to the cop who flagged me down on the 103 in the middle of the night when I was admittedly going a little too fast. I was sure I was being chased by a crazy lunatic (and drove faster) until the lights flashed. I was so appreciative that you were a) A cop, not an axe murderer, and b) A decent human being who didn't throw his weight around so that I would have taken a ticket willingly. But you just reminded me about slowing down and looking out for deer (and made sure there wasn't someone in my life I should be afraid of), that I drove away feeling safe. Given all we hear about our neighbours to the south and their policing issues, I am glad that you, decent cop, are out there, looking out for us. —Drove responsibly the rest of the way

Thanks to the girl in the red parka on Brunswick Street who yelled at the guys after they commented on my friend and I's outfits. You yelled, "You misogynist dicks, I can hear you from here." It meant a lot to us that you would even bother. The world needs more people like you. —The girl just trying to rock a romper downtown

To the boy from MSVU, who travelled on the 3:30 81 toward Halifax yesterday,
I noticed you because you are handsome, in an unassuming way. Your tall, dark, handsome looks are obviously attractive. But when you offered your seat to an elderly woman, and endearingly engaged in comical conversation with her afterward, her eyes lit up, and it was obvious that the way you look is the least beautiful thing about you (albeit, still very attractive).
Thank you for being so polite and thoughtful, it brightened my day to witness your interaction. —Swooning Brunette

Before Christmas we found ourselves on virtually the same downtown gym schedule. You - dark hair - stairmaster queen. Look of determination, competitiveness, and kindness in your eyes all at once. Me - there purely for preventative maintenance. Tunnel vision...until you. You tried to get on a stationary bike next to mine, but alas, it was broken. I was hoping to challenge you to a stationary road race. No such luck. You casually half-smiled and carried on.
Ever since, I see you from time to time, but don't want to be the creep who gives the impression he wants to meet a girl at the gym. But I do.
Just wanted to say your half-smiles keep me wondering when our schedules will meet next... —No Motivation Required

My kids and I went for a swim at the Canada Games Ctr during the storm on Sunday, only to realize that my swimsuit hadn't been packed. My young kids were about to have their swim cancelled and you saved the day with the offer of an extra "Angry Birds" pair of trunks you had on hand! Only 3 days into 2015, and a kind soul listened and helped. Thanks a million! You were a family "life saver"! Hope you found them as agreed. —New Year Appreciation

This past year was pretty incredible...and it ended incredibly hard. I hope you know that I think you're one of the most amazing people I've ever met and that I want nothing but happiness for you. You're a strong, smart, beautiful, caring person who deserves the best. I hope you're smiling ear to ear surrounded by friends and family on your birthday. Here to 2015 bringing great things for us both. Until we meet again... —Time Heals (I hope)

This year has been tough for many of us, but we've gotten through it together. To all of my amazing friends who have been there through thick and thin—through crying over Kraft Dinner, boys, moving and new beginnings—I love all of you and I am so grateful to have you in my life. Happy new year!! I hope 2015 is rad for all of us. —LBR

For a few winter months in 2011, we were pals. We had that kind of instant chemistry that makes for very good conversation and sometimes short-lived, flash-in-the-pan romantic feelings. Occasionally, I think it can also lead to wonderful friendships. Anyway, I think about you sometimes, and those sometimes are often over the holidays. I wonder if you're still dating that same girl. I wonder if you've purchased and wrapped some records for her this Christmas, as you did back then. I wonder if you ever wonder about me. Most of all, I just wonder how you're doing and if you still drink a lot of tea. I hope still you do and that you're doing well.
