Shout out to the considerate deli counter attendant at Pete's who let me sample 3 different types of meat before cutting a perfect dollars worth of salami for my sammie. You sure provided great customer service for such a cheapskate! —Simple Sandwicher

We were getting off a very crowded #1 bus at the Oxford Street stop heading north. We were both leaving from the middle doors, which opened to a huge icy snow mountain before the sidewalk, blocking our exit. I only saw it once you had catapulted yourself over it like a champ. The doors were going to close so I made a weak, half-assed jump onto the mountain. You offered your hand and helped me over it and explained that you really gotta go for it or you'll get stuck on the bus until the next stop. You're a gem. There should be more people in Halifax like you. Thanks for the help! —The Timid Bus Escapee

To the house who turned their speakers out on the corner of Robie and Coburg on Friday morning for everyone to hear “My Girl.” What a lift of spirit! —Your Girl

Five years ago you posted a psst about a girl wearing a red sweater who frequently rode the ferry who read mystery novels. I wanted to give you a long overdue thank you for being so kind...and I was and am single. Thank you for hoping someone was loving me. No one was or has for quite awhile, but that's ok. I've got a good life and great kids. I can't complain. I hope all of your dreams have come true stranger. May life carry you to the best places. —Rose

Tremendous gratitude to our Wednesday snowshoe saviors. As the sun was setting, you pushed through the worst of hurricane Juan’s legacy to rescue us from our outpost in Long Lake Park. When we set out for our morning trek, we never imagined that our adventure would be taken to the next level. Entered into survival mode, we placed the dreaded call and proceeded to wait for an unknown arrival. When you emerged from the thicket with your trustee brothers and 60Ib pack, we were delighted to gorge on Larabars and test a few flares. Though we didn’t get an exciting helicopter ride out, or a kit kat bar, we are forever grateful that you became part of our story. Next time, we hope to see you in the cockpit. Thank you! —Lost on the Level

I know a woman who's strong, vocal, independent and beautiful. She's done so much for so many women, given them a voice and stood up for them when they didn't have the confidence to stand up for themselves. So this love is for you, you're something and you're wonderful. Your boyfriend is not. You deserve so much more than someone who tells everyone but you that you're in an open relationship. You deserve someone that wouldn't leave you for a Baseball game while you're going through the one of the hardest experiences a woman can have, someone who doesn't pick other women up at the airport while telling you he's playing video games with his friends. Be the strong, independent woman that you are and kick his lame ass to the curb. You're surrounded by people that actually love you and will support you through this, you'll never be alone. You can have another him in a minute, you're worth so much more. —We're In this Together

I saw you the other day after a lengthy hiatus and -- blame the day -- did not recognize you. You were always so nice to me and I sincerely liked you, so I feel all but compelled to write and apologize to you for losing my sh*t on you. I really feel bad you got the brunt of it, and I hope you can one day find it in your heart to forgive me. I'm not actually as bad as I seem, and I am sorry.

On Tuesday night, I took my son and his friend to a Halifax Hotel for a night, for something to do over March Break. We were only staying ONE night. Unfortunately, the plow contractor for the hotel didn't show up until later in the day on Wed, and then did a crappy job, then the front loader showed up around 8pm, and did a crappy job, so the patrons STILL couldn't get out.
I'd like to thank the guy who was parked next to me, in the van, who was supposed to move on Wed, for shoveling out the side of my car. I'd also like to thank that gentleman, and the two others, who were supposed to catch a flight at 7am Thurs morning, for helping to get me out, and more importantly, PUSH me up that hill beside the hotel, so we could finally get out of there!
If it weren't for my son, his friend, and these three gentlemen and one young woman who all borrowed shovels from the hotel and nearby homes, I think there would have been MANY people stranded at that hotel for longer than they wanted to be.
THANK YOU!
Oh, and to the hotel, get a new plow contractor, cause that's really not a nice way to get people to pay for an extra night! —The Chick Who FINALLY Got To Leave

I'm really sorry for the horrible things my sister said to you last Saturday night, that's why I was trying to leave, I could see it coming... it was so wrong!
You did not deserve to be treated like that and I thought you were a very nice person.
I hope the rest of your night was fantastic and thank you for making me feel special :)
P.S. Your confidence was great!

I've started having day dreams again about all the fluke-ish death scenario's that could happen to me while doing mundane every day things. Good to know my brain is finally over you. I've missed my morbid little pass time.
