Infinite thanks to the couple who gave me a lift home after an SUV hit a water-filled crater at the corner of Rainnie and Cogswell and soaked me from head to toe. I don't remember your names—I was too busy shivering and getting acquainted with the taste of dirt and road salt—but I will always remember your kindness. —Soggy Gal on Cogswell

Was I on a packed bus with bums in face because I was lucky to get a seat? Yes. Was the driver of said bus calm and collected and drove that bus? Of course. Why is there so much bitching about transit when clearly it’s only mother nature to blame. Halifax Transit drivers, in my experience are courteous, friendly and precisely handle their job of difficult conditions and difficult people with the kindest execution of the roads that we all have no choice about. There are obstacles on our roads that no iPhone or degree could navigate. A huge props to our beloved drivers of transit that are also victims of winter but step up —Keep Keeping on Folks of Our City

To the person who wrote “Come over, build blanket fort, hotbox blanket fort, sex, whiskey, snuggling, TV,” for the Coast sex survey...That sounds wonderful! I hope I meet you someday <3

who tries to find someone through The Coast. At the new grocery store liquor store we shared a sample of wine, and two samples of rum, then joked laying down a nice base for a Saturday eve. Since we've got the drinks out of the way, maybe you'd like to get coffee and tell me about Spain?

I miss you too. Every day. There are a couple of loved here that might be directed my way, and if they are, I want you to know that this has not been easy. I think of you every single day, and it's hard to believe it's been months since I've seen you. But I am working hard to be a better person to myself and for myself. Maybe our story is over, or maybe there's another chapter to be written. I'll keep working until then...

To the folks working the deli counter at the big chain grocery store that seems to think you can do the work of three regular human beings: you are saints for not throwing rotisserie chicken legs at me every time i come in asking for assistance. I will make it my life's mission to let the world know of your overworked/underpaid plight. Take heart, we will not abandon you. —Wait For The Signs

I still think about you all the time. I know I said we weren't ready to "go to the next level,” but I often wonder if I made a huge mistake. You were so damn good to me, we had so much in common, and the sex was the best I've ever had—not just hot, but really NICE: loving, intimate, warm. Does it make me a pig if I say that's what I miss the most? We weren't just banging; we were making love, and it nurtured my soul. But I still don't think I'm cut out to be your FT boyfriend. If there was some way we could have it both ways (FWB) it would be great, but you deserve more than that. I just wanted you to know that I still miss you, and the times we had together. You are a wonderful girl and if you haven't found what you're looking for yet, I hope you do, because you deserve it. —JJ Walker

Thank you, dear person who found my wallet and put it in my mailbox. You took the time and effort to save me all the time and effort it would have taken to replace all the things I would have lost, and more, if it were not for your anonymous kindness. You reminded me of all the good things people can choose to be and I woke up the next morning grateful for the day and the city I live in, and the people I share them with.

I guessed your WIFI password, I accessed your network without your consent. I needed time to afford my own. You caught on quickly and did nothing. You deserve an apology, and a payment. What I did was wrong and undignified.
