As a bike rider I could fill a year's worth of issues of The Coast with Bitches about car drivers in Halifax. Instead I will submit a love to the very nice drivers this morning at Almon and Isleville who both stopped to let me cross Almon on my bike, even though I was fully stopped as per the stop sign, and allowing them the right of way they had. Thanks drivers, that was a nice thing to do. —Bike Commuter

Yesterday I wanted you to cover my face in playful kisses. Today I want to build you a pedestal you would never get on. Tomorrow I will love you more than ever. You inspire me endlessly. —TG

You were flexin' your democratic power at a recent engagement session to learn how to engage the disengaged. Your smile caught my eye and then I couldn't stop sneaking peaks across the room at you. We kept making eye contact but didn't get to chat. I just wanted to say hi, and maybe we could chat about politics over coffee someday? —The Girl With The Green Scarf

My boyfriend and I are broker than we've ever been right now. It is exciting but stressful. We both have well-paying jobs, though things like paperwork and injury have made February and March intensely dry financially. I'm doing everything right on paper and still getting nowhere. I've been selling my things to make a few bucks, and my parents can't even help me anymore. I've bled them dry with my inadequate adulting skills. Welcome to the real world, right? So...When the boyfriend and I found two candy bars in a garden between two busy north end streets, it was a like a sign. The proverbial burning bush, in the form of crispy chocolate-coated candy, that told us, “keep believing in the good.” I hope whoever put them there (they were displayed so nicely) meant for someone to take them (we waited 30 minutes and came back, just in case) and gets this thank you! I've never enjoyed candy more. You have no idea how much impact something so inexpensive has made on these two hearts. —Faith Restored

Great story...I had a customer purchase a gift card the other day. She immediately gave it back to me and said, "Put that towards the next persons bill." You, my dear have restored my faith in humanity. The older lady who was next in line will never forget your kindness, I promise. I told her there were still good people in this world and she agreed. —My Faith In Humanity

It's been well over a year, and I can't get you out of my mind. I wake up in the morning—there you are. I ride my bicycle—you pop in my brain to make sure I'm still thinking about you. It doesn't matter whether I'm in class, out for drinks, or wherever, my thoughts of you are constant. That's how lovely and great you are. I'm in love!

My Australian Shepard wouldn't leave your beautiful German Shepard alone and even though my wild pup knocked over your coffee you were still friendly and we hiked together for two hours! This is what I love about life—you surprised me and our chance encounter was oh so lovely. I hope our puppies are friends to the end and maybe us as well? —Crystal Crescent Hiking Gal

We've been on several dates and every time we spend time together I wish with all my might that you will want me to be your girl even though I know you're a lone wolf. You are the reason I am not giving up hope that there are indeed wonderful men out there. You listen to me, you ask questions and you make me feel so damn special. No matter where we end up, my heart will always be grateful to you.

To the wonderful girl reading Tears of Salt at the Starbucks on Spring Garden (March 7) who looked up at me and had the most beautiful smile and playful eyes as I found a spot to work. Maybe you'd let me buy you a coffee sometime. —Guy With The Blue Frames

This is the best part of my day. We used to work across the hall from each other. You’re beautiful and I don’t think you’re happy, but I know you are when we have those 10 minutes. You’re an incredible woman and I hope you know I’m not too young for you. —Dress Shirts Under Sweaters
