I was walking home tonight by myself down Charles Street when I noticed you walking towards me with two dogs. When you stepped aside to let me pass, I was surprised since the sidewalk was clear and big enough for us to have shared it. It soon became apparent why you chose to do so because of your giant puppy (possible chow mix) who immediately looked like he wanted to jump me. I asked if I could pet him and you let me. I knew he only wanted to play and sure enough he started to play tug of war with my scarf with the most gentle of pulls. He let go almost as soon as you asked him to stop and then he grabbed my jacket. I just want to say thank you for being a good dog owner. It was apparent by how well your dogs behaved, how gentle you were being with the puppy and thank you for being courteous enough to have stepped aside in case I might have been afraid of dogs since you knew your happy puppy would jump to greet me. I also want to say you have a beautiful smile. My only regret is that I didn't pet the other dog or get your number. It was brief but happy encounter. It certainly made my walk! —The Girl with the Sparkly Scarf and Denim Jacket

Dear you,
We met a few years ago on a hot summer night, and hit it off from the start. We met in a crowd but each lost our friends to hang out alone. We talked, we danced and you walked me home like a perfect gentleman. I was immediately smitten.

We hung out and I enjoyed every minute of it. I hadn't felt a pull to someone like that before and with an intensity I haven't felt since.

We ended too soon when I had to leave to pursue a dream. Since I returned, I tried to re-connect many times and you ignored me. Rightfully so. We didn't part on the best terms. I was sad and drunk, and harsh words were uttered. I'm sorry.

I still think about you often, and what could have been. I think we could have been awesome. I don't think you realized how handsome and interesting you were, but I hope you do now. I'm happily with another, and it's a serious commitment, but I will always hold a special place for you in my heart. I will always wonder what could have been.

Take care and find happiness. —Me

To the dancing Asian guy who was at the Roxy and Underground sound show at the SH: You made my night with your moves and finesse. Can you please teach the Halifax male populace so they stop looking like an offbeat deranged bag of zombies? Thx for the tips, I will use them. You’re the best! —BM

Sold you something recently off of a popular buy/sell site. Oh my gosh I think I fell in like at first site, a rare occurrence for me. Found out you're taken. Still can't stop thinking about that wonderful smile. —Seller

I see you all the time, and I wish I could say more to you. You're always behind the counter with a smile on your face when I come in, and I want to just stay there and chat forever. But, I doubt you think of me the way I think of you. Stay beautiful. —A Homo Longing For Love

To the nice guy who introduced himself to me in the food court - very brave! I got flustered and didn't ask anything about you. I'll try the Indian food some time. Hopefully I'll see ya around. —Blushing smoothie girl

Crossing your path while walking my pup at Shubie makes my day. You have caught my interest like no guy has in a very long time and the butterflies in my belly do a little dance every time our eyes meet. I think you, your sexy voice and tattoos are very sexy. I hope the admiration is mutual. —Shubie Girl

How glorious to live in a city that can take you out on the water for $2.50 as a way to kick off/continue a big night out! And how extra-wondrous it is, when it's the last late ferry on a Friday, and there are beautiful people to meet willing to take a chance on random, Guinness-fueled dancing adventures with strangers. Thanks for entertaining us old guys, kiddo, and good luck on your LSATs. Too bad we didn't get your number, but perhaps we'll keep our eyes out for you on the boat in 2016. —Sazeracs-to-go

To the man in the red rain jacket behind me in line at Sobey's Wednesday evening with the wonderful smile. I really wish I had said something instead of smiling awkwardly, turning away and blushing. You may not have even noticed me, but I totally noticed you. Keep smiling :) —The curly haired girl in the pink rain jacket
