Think about all the people you've secretly had a crush on. All the people you've found attractive, but never said anything to. Every stranger you've temporarily fallen in love with on public transportation. All the people you've dreamt of and thought of in the early mornings. And now take a moment to realize you have been this person for so many people...and you have no idea. —Mighty Aphrodite <3

To the purple haired girl with the green canvas bookbag who is always on the 60, your head bopping and unprompted but infectious and endearing smile lights up my world every time I see you. Whether your reading a weird book about witches or your preferred national geographic, you look so open I just want to hug the shit out of you. I hope someone is loving you, and life is as great to you as your smile is to me. —Admirer, NOT stalker

Hello my love, it's New York here. I miss you everyday, think of you often. I wait endlessly until you come visit my little Island. Hope to see you soon. Remember what I told you make sure you find balance in your life. Miss you. —Brooklyn Girl

After meeting you at HSSC registration, I did this thing I sometimes do where I make my best friend cringe by dragging out a really awful joke way further than it should have gone. This time, it was about how you and I were in love, evidenced by the fact that you (an employee) had talked to me (a registrant) so much (as if that wasn't your job). Because I am relentless and have a very good memory, I still bring it up occasionally, usually after seeing your handsome face out and about. She still finds it irritating and I still find that amusing. Anyway, our paths crossed again last night and, good god, you are even better than I imagined—honest, witty, border-lining on too forward. I find you absolutely intoxicating, and—while I do plan on respecting your seemingly complex and unique relationship status—I can't help but look forward to running into you again. —Brown Eyes

You always approach me and talk to me whenever we run into each other. You are always so friendly and kind. I am afraid I have not been as encouraging as I should? I hope to change that and I hope you keep on talking to me because you're lovely. Let's hang out? —I should probably say this in person

I can't imagine this note will be posted before or through the long weekend so, this may be a “remember when” post. Thanks for the pretty smile this morning. No, I wasn't staring at your braces, I was curious about the missing bracket on your tooth. It struck me odd to see a pretty row of metal with a gap. Shrug. I hope the Easter bunny finds (found) you down in the south shore. Enjoy the long weekend and I hope we cross paths with each other again. You seemed really nice. —Mr. 6th to Ms. 3rd

it's a long shot, but i thought i'd reach out and say hey. last spring i was walking down spring garden with fruit from pete's, and you were at the bus stop by subway/fickle frog. we made eye contact and i smiled at you :) i walked to public gardens to have a solo picnic and, you followed me in... i'm pretty sure, anyway. i had no idea what to do, so i just plopped by the water and ate an apple and got barefooted. you sauntered behind me and plopped down on the other side of the pond. we sat for a bit. i was too shy to actually talk to you, but i decided to bring you an apple. then you were gone when i got to the other side of the pond. gone, with your manbun and your backpack and your yumminess. we have seen each other around a few of other times, once on robie near tony's. i saw you at sobey's with a girl. i hope she's nice!! i've seen you walk by the good food, and we passed each other again on spring but you were on the phone and didn't see me. bleh! the price of not saying hey :) —coincidences n stuff

I met you two years ago on St Patricks Day at Durty Nellys, after you have been celebrating with some of the boys you said. You invited me and my friend to sit with you and we all laughed and carried on. I was wearing a multi colour Kelly green , black, grey and cream sweater. You had on a tshirt and a yellow shirt. You were a teacher in Dartmouth you told me. Then you were gone but you asked where I usually went. I had just come from The Moustache and said sometimes I go there on Saturdays. You said maybe you would see me there next week but it wasn’t a place you usually went. So I was there the next week and old boyfriend showed up. Then you did too and I was shocked to see you. We chatted briefly but I was up on the dance floor a lot. You left and said Goodbye as you passed. I immediately felt like I had made a big mistake- again. But you gave me a gift that I will always remember- the fact that you came looking for me and I thank you for that. Love you my dear Dartmouth teacher. —Grateful Poet
