It's not surprising that the people of Halifax don't want to remove or change the Cornwallis statue, but I felt extremely uncomfortable reading all the comments about why it should stay. I didn't realize everyone was so god-damn racist towards Mi'kmaw people. How can so many people honor a man that paid money for the scalps of children? To be fair, Halifax has far too few all ages venues and short of sneaking into bars that have lax ID checks, 18 and under people do not get to see shows, and that sucks. However, I hate the fact that our star all ages venue is begging for money to be saved and does not deserve to be saved anyways.
All the shows that all ages venues play seem to be lame-ass (not to offend, as I know we are a PC culture in Halifax to the point of absurdity) hardcore and deathcore trash. Kids these days very rarely will see a real rock show because the powers that be (posers that be) in charge always book the same bands. 
When the Protest the Hero battles happened a few years ago, I remember there was one thrash band and a bunch of trashy hardcore I-hate-my-daddy bands. At the end of the thrash set, I saw one kid staring at the stage in wonder. "Who was that?" he asked. I knew his life was changed.

To the dumb ass's who responded to my bitch about where is the military: First with reserves we have over 100,000 troops so that takes care of you. Next all military members must pass fire fighting training,so in answer to this guy they would use the equipment all ready there to let those who have been going 23 hours a day have a break,done with you. Next yes we would feed them just as we are feeding them here so no cost,transporting them would be done with military aircraft cost would be fuel only as we own the aircraft. So the cost to get there and help would be saved from the savings of $ being lost to the stoppage of work being done and the cost of all those people being on employment insurance.
