"I love misogyny," he told me in the morning while he put his shirt back on.
"Why?" I, an idiot, asked.
"Because as a man, it benefits me."

Wrong, grasshopper. You mean the patriarchy, not misogyny. And you're still wrong. The patriarchy hurts everyone. —Out of your league

Well I'm driving home the other night & I hear on the radio, that the Halifax Police have reviewed the Facebook posts of those guy's who were involved in those misogynistic posts. Seems there will be no criminal investigation opened. That what was said/written wasn't a crime. Which I believe is exactly what I said right from the beginning. Now hopefully the school will be allowed to use their policies & their procedures to deal with , what I most certainly do believe was a nasty juvenile irresponsible display , by several persons with in the group. No one should be subjected publicly or in a place of learning to that type of behaviour in my opinion. Which is probably why schools have policy's on that in the first place. I never believed it should have been a criminal offence & I still believe they have a right to say it, even though I feel what they said was wrong. Bash away guys, after all it seems to me those of you with the lynch mob mentality ....only seem to think what you agree with should be allowed to be freely spoken. God is dead I don't care who that comment pisses off ~;p —More

You guys, on the street corners, fundraising for a well known charity that empowers frauleins to change the world. Good on ya! I appreciate your cheerfulness when you tell me to have a nice day, as I rush past you. I realize you have a job to do that only lasts for a few weeks at a time. But I wish that organization would find a better way to fundraise. It is hard enough to jostle past the panhandlers on Spring Garden Road. Please go away! —Babette

Maybe its just me, but why is minimum wage acceptable yet a maximum wage isn't? Come on folks, corporate greed is a very real thing. When was the last time a CEO limited their pay to better their company? —Minimum wage equals poverty..

I just read a piece in a local publication , where Pope Francis, says free speech needs to be-" limited , especially when it refers to someones religious beliefs" He starts by saying "Free speech is not only a fundamental human right, but a duty to speak ones mind for the common good" B U T , when it comes to religion, there everyone has to shut the fuck up & you can't offend , particularly religions & their followers. Well ladies & gentlemen, I have a Huge Problem with that. Either we have free speech , or we have limited speech , which needs to be officially approved, & then you can say it. If one cannot openly express their views , except on subjects , decided on by the worlds (I'm assuming here, but am probably right) primary aka popular religions. Then IMO you have no free speech. That someone as the Head of a religious group should come out & even be taken seriously in their views that free speech should be limited as it relates to them in particular , is ludicrous. I will admit in a very narrow way I do agree on some very limited restrictions , for example ... No shouting FIRE FIRE ! in a crowded movie theatre or other place where using free speech in that context would probably cause panic & a rush to exits that could cause serious bodily harm/death. Or placing a sign up saying 'swimming hole open' in a alligator /crocodile inhabited place. But those in my opinion are the only types of restrictions there should be. I feel that once there is no freedom to criticize religions, then the Government won't be far behind ,If in fact they are not leading the way in restricting what can be said about them. The Police Services will jump aboard as a 'Government body , & on & on & on. Saying you can't criticize us, should immediately be grounds for nonstop constant criticism IMO. How can anyone ever express their belief on what they think is a subject of common good, if there are restrictions of not only many different types, but being restricted further each & every time someone gets offended by what another says. If freedom of speech & expression is to be upheld as a basic human right. Then any restrictions must be as few as possible, the fewer the better. This of course also pertains to people expressing hateful views, like the Dal dental group, holocaust deniers, Flat Earth society , Who are those religious nut cases who protest at dead soldiers funerals ?. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean you or they shouldn't be able to freely say what you think or believe. As I am doing here against the Popes latest comments, free speech Ladies & gents will only stay that way as long as people are willing to fight to keep it. Further more the more we allow conditions & restrictions to be placed on it, the more of them there will be until no one will be allowed to say anything except "yes sir , how high sir" —The Pot calling the Kettle black arse is a good thing

Why is it ok to joke about this and say that a date where a man doesn't offer to pay is a "fail"? Isn't that so sexist? Assuming that women, obviously being lesser than men, don't have the means, wherewithal or ability to handle the complexities of a retail financial transaction? That's pretty damn awful to me. Where are the feminists beating their chests about this issue? I hear it referred to almost daily and there is even a hashtag about it now. —What's good for the goose isn't good for this gander.

There are certain types of 'feminism' that are little more than misandry, these days it is the majority of those who identify as such. Likewise, there are a lot of men out there who behave in a truly disgusting manner. And not just these Dal guys. It's one thing to be attracted to a woman and to look at a woman, I get it, it is hard-wired into your biology. It's another thing to say pervy things to strangers...or worse. Equality is a good thing. I truly believe we are more equal today than ever before but that does not mean that the work is done and it does not mean it's time to relax. Respect is a good thing, in fact it is essential to building a strong community. Respect is a two-way street. You have to give it to get it. Telling others how to think and act so that they behave in a way that is acceptable to you and ostracizing people who don't conform to your narrow concept of how people should behave is unacceptable. That goes for men who berate women for the way they dress, how many sexual partners they've had, etc...it also goes for women who are easily offended by things that really aren't worth the effort. Sticks and stones. There are differences between the genders. Neither are better than the other or more pure or more right or wrong. Stop pretending there aren't. Be honest with yourself and others. There are differences between white and black people as well (as well as every other ethnicity). Differences that extend beyond physical appearance. Again, it is not a case of one being better than the other as these differences vary from individual to individual. Ignoring them or pretending they don't exist is untruthful. In many cases, these differences are cause for celebration. Diversity is probably the best thing about Canada - stop trying to make everyone conform to what you and your group thinks is right. It's easy for you to sit there and judge straight white males and pretend you are a perfect being but you aren't. No one is. It's time for you to come down off the pedestal you have placed yourself on and start dealing more in truths and less in emotional opinions. No one is attacking you, no one is out to get you. You are not a victim. Of course everyone has been a victim of something at some point, so in that sense we are all victims in a way. Sure. But you turn it into the driving force of your whole existence. You are a victim, you are oppressed. Woe is me. You do this because it allows you to end discussions before they even begin. "Oh, you're not allowed to have an opinion about this because you don't know what it's like to be a victim." "Whatever you say is invalid because you don't speak from my perspective - I am a victim." Enough already. We live in a time where we enjoy more freedom than any other generation in the history of this planet. Men and women both need to smarten up and it starts with treating one another with mutual respect, honesty (with each other and yourself), empathy and and end of generalizations. —Find out what it means to me

Recently I had my teeth cleaned by some self righteous dental hygienist who must've thought I knew where Jimmy Hoffa was buried because she tortured me for at least 20 minutes. And while I was questioned by this orc of Mordor I could see blood being sucked through the saliva suction tube in my mouth. It's my fucking mouth, I don't care what you learned in your stupid two year community college program, you don't hurt people like that. Out spite I haven't brushed me teeth in days. All while I'm getting a nice tan from the hell your soon to be burning in. I hope you die of oral cancer. —Fugee La

To all the road bullies driving SUVs light trucks and RST Tankers: why don't you smarten the hell up when you see an older model car driving 10-12 km below limit. Haven't you figured out in your thick stupid skulls that older cars can't race at 140km in the fucking dark during a rain or snow storm- that maybe- just maybe- we want to actually reach our destination in one fucking piece instead of ending up in those deep ravines you call ditches. Oh- and are you that itchy-arsed to get where you're going that you can't goddamned wait 30 seconds so you don't pass someone on a fucking bridge or overpass? Then, later on at a Timmy's I hear you bragging to your trucking buddies on how you almost 'dusted' a little car& laugh about it? Well that fucking car was ME and I am a mother of two sons and have to travel long distances to get to work. You uncaring murderous bully bastards! I hope someday you attend a post-mortem and see how horrible a car accident death really is. And Nova Scotia- spend some of that tax money you've been thieving over the years in politicians pockets and put some fucking street lights on highway 102. Its a death trap tunnel in the early hours of the morning and at night. —Hard working Mom with only an old car.
