WTF? I'm trying to adopt a dog but all I can find are AmStaffs and Amstaff mixes. Are these dogs so gdamn dumb that they are forever running away, or are Pit-bull owners the worst goddamn kind of dog owner in this province? —looking for a lab mix that doesn't have pitbull jawls

I was awoken at 3 am last Saturday by the terrifying howl of a drunk guy who's foot had just been run over by a taxi. I have had my own foot run over by a car in the past and realize that the young man's reaction was exaggerated. Being awoken with such a fright meant that my Saturday productivity was not its best. If you cannot drink and exit a taxi like a full grown man, kindly do not attempt to do so around me. This sort of behaviour is disrespectful and narcissistic to say the least. —Exhausted in Halifax

I'm highly amused with the uneducated bitches lately. The ones that really get me are the ones that stress how drivers are over paid. First of all, my boyfriend has been with transit about 8 months now and as a new employee he makes about 20 bucks an hour. Not to bad right? Wrong. after about 500 dollar union, medical and other deductions his take home pay is less than my serving job at a hotel brings home.It actually makes it nearly impossible for him to pay off any debt and leaves just enough for bills and a bit of leisure. Also, with this 55 or some odd dollars he pays per pay just on medical for himself with no dental, we can't afford to have a family plan with dental which costs around 175 per pay, therefor the 6 or so cavities I still have must be paid for out out pocket by yours truly. Now that we've got that portion of the bitch out of the way, lets talk about the job itself. I can't even count the amount of times he has come home to bitch about your self entitled, dehumanizing asshole ways. He is one of the most light hearted and positive people I know, but becoming a bus driver has meant that while he's at work he has to put up with a lot of your garbage. Rightfully so he has learned not to put up with any of it. You don't make it to a bus stop when he's passing and want the doors open 10 feet from the stop? 400 dollar fine he's risking for your ungrateful ass to get on the bus with not even as much as a thank you. So don't be surprised if he shakes his head and keeps driving. This is just the tip of the iceburg. Being told off for doing his job the way he was trained, being ignored when he greets people onto the bus and overall loud and disrespectful behavior being shown to him while on the bus is a daily occurrence. His first week on the job he was blown away with how drivers are treated the moment you get into that uniform. He took the job because he loves driving, is good at it and has exceptional people skills. He came from much higher paying jobs to a job her would enjoy and that would have him home every night. There are some crotchity old git bus drivers out there, and as a previous transit user, I've encountered them. Now I can't really blame them after hearing the bs they have to put up with. I'd be bitter after 20 years of that crap too. Just some food for thought guys. —Tired of your self centered attitiudes

I have a (ground) beef to pick with you! Thanks Coast for ruining my appetite for burgers this week. The cover of disgusting hairy toes, and half eaten food falling on the ground ruined the image of a beautiful pristine burger. Next time put a sock on it- the feet at least. —Burger Babe

To the driver in the white van who nearly slammed into the back of my car on North and Oxford for slowing/stopping at a cross walk after the light had gone yellow while blaring his horn, and then decided to role down his window just to scream 'Bitch' at me. I'm sorry if you frustrated because you felt I could have made the light, maybe I could, maybe I couldn't have. I myself have also experienced feelings of road rage: the entitled thinking that the cars in front of me or the construction should just part like the Red Sea, so I can get to where I need to be. However, some drivers actually don't feel comfortable flooring it when the light is about to go from yellow-to red to make intersections, especially considering the Chebucto-North-Oxford merge is weirdly prone to accidents. Drivers aren't psychically connected, so you shouldn't assume that the person in front of you also drives like you do. Next time don't either speed and or tailgate, pay attention to the road, and don't roll down your window just so you can verbally abuse the person whose car you almost wrecked as a result of your shitty driving. —The person you almost hit

How is it that dog owners dog's have more space and rights than non dog people in this city? I just love it when my 2 year old walks through a pile of shit. Even better, I loved watching some asshole's dog almost bite her face off. There is so much of the park that is "off leash" that a lot of people don't even bother putting a leash on for the short walks in "on leash" area. How is it that dogless people and kids get the shit end of the stick? Thanks douchebags; I hope your selfish actions ruin it for all of you and you all end up in small shitty "off leash" fenced in areas like the rest of urban North America. —Take back the Park

So my boyfriend and I got engaged and you guys can't even be happy for us? All I got was how I was too young and advice on how expensive a divorce is. No congrats, nothing positive. Wow, nice to know my family and friends are so happy for me, already waiting on the divorce. Oh, and one lovely acquaintance on my facebook comments: "LOLOL that ain't gonna last!"

Why don't you think it will work out? Because I'm only 21? Because my boyfriend and I briefly broke up twice in the three years we've been together? I'm 21 but am probably more mature than a lot of 30-somethings. My BF is 23 and acts like he's 30. Our last breakup was 11 months ago and it was only for a week! We have been going strong since. Are you jealous or something? The majority of the negativity is coming from singletons, after all. Well, haters gonna hate. I can't wait to marry my love and spend my life with him and our future children. We're also trying for a baby so expect an ultrasound pic in the future as well as the pics of my wedding! —Looking forward to becoming a MRS and a mommy
