The election may be over but let’s not forget: Having fixed election dates; covering cancer drugs taken at home; having a defined contribution pension plan for MLAs and senior bureaucrats; making sure that the government is responsive to problems in Cape Breton regarding health care; and, adequate funding for long term care facilities for food. —I remember though you may forget
To all the car owners in Halifax who park in Halifax few, precious bike lanes: Please stop.
I know your excuses: You are just waiting to pick someone up. It is inconvenient for you go around the corner. You didn’t know it was a bike lane. You just need to send one more text. You pay gas on taxes which somehow entitles you to park wherever you goddamn please.
I don’t know what’s worse: People who park in Halifax’s few bike lanes or the lack of enforcement of not parking in said bike lanes. It’s a parking violation the city does not seem to take seriously, so the problem persists.
I know a lot of drivers hate cyclists. That is your right. You are allowed to hate us as much as you need to. Have at it. But please don’t park in our bike lanes. Your stupid, oblivious behaviour makes the road more dangerous for everyone. Driving (and parking) is a privilege, not a right. —A Haligonian on Two Wheels
Are there really any jobs in this city? I mean real ones that are permanent with benefits. Why are the same jobs posted over and over again? I have 1,000 applications out there and not one call. If you want people to live in NS and pay taxes and grow the city you have to have decent jobs for people and please don't ask me to fill another hour long application out with ridiculous screening questions. Call me and meet me and then make up your mind based on me not what someone else's distorted opinion was of me at the last place I worked. I left there for a reason and that was to find something better only to find out now they are still holding me back. When I hired people I never called references because I know I can train anyone with the right attitude that wants to learn. —Are these jobs really available NS?
Where is all the tax money going? We are taxed on earnings taxed on what we buy. How much interest does our tax dollars make for the country? Why are sick people waiting for tests and doctors to see them?
There is more than enough money to hire doctors to stay in the province and work. Our government just doesn't make the priority to do it. Now the justice system, backed up for years to come innocent people in jail waiting trial. Judges making ridiculous decisions based on cave man standards. Lawyers charging $350 per hour to write a letter I can write myself but again the bureaucratic BS someone else has to pay for. Step up to the plate and clean this mess up and yes it can be done. Someone with some guts needs to make a executive decision without waiting for all the bureaucratic BS to run its course. Backwards comes instantly to mind check out TO how the big cities keep it together, you can learn something from them if you chose to do so. Stop going golfing on our dime and sit in your office and solve the problems that our city is plagued with. We are way to smart to believe anything you tell us anymore actions speak louder than words! —Get with the program Nova Scotia!
Drivers of HRM. STOP trying to cheat the RED lights when I'm waiting for the walk signal. When ALL four lights are red I find that if I wait the 2-3 seconds for the walk signal drivers waiting to turn Right become impatient or think I'm letting them go, so when I step of they begin to turn. Conversely when I try an avoid that and go when ALL four lights are red I'm faced with drivers who try an sneak through. So JUST wait and give pedestrians the right of way. Two or three seconds won’t ruin your day but it will ruin ours. —Angry Crosswalk
My fiancé tells me that she wants a 30k dollar wedding just like the women on TV.
Instead, I'm giving her an ultimatum: Either cut the cost down so I can buy a muscle car or she gets the curb. —I ain’t no schmuck
My doctor put in a request for an MRI in October 2016. I just got the good news...I have an appointment for March 2018, in Kentville because HALIFAX is too busy. I might be dying, please send the bill to my estate.
Someone please remind me why we love public healthcare. —Not Amused
I quit your shitty band two years ago. Yet, you continue to text me from ungodly hour of 6am till you crash at night at about 9pm. Bro, I don't care about the band anymore. I've moved on and so should you. I don't care how your band has cool new T shirts, hats, shower curtains, and now you're making band branded toasters? FFS! And now you're recording an album...like why the f**k do I care about that? Just another money pit, bro. I think you should quit too. —Control yourself, toxic, leave me alone!
To the soccer mom driving down Vernon on Saturday afternoon, not only did you not stop at that stop sign I had the right away at, the following light you refused to share the lane with me you pulled so close to the curb you were rubbing your tires. Ironic that you had a share the road bike sticker on your car and that it is bike week, you are more than oblivious to anything going on around you then you gabbing on your cellphone. Next time the cyclist you try to run off the road might be a child not paying attention and you can kill someone. get your head out of your ass and stop living up to snotty south end reputation. —Bike work commuter
You only care when something bad happens to you but can care less if it happens to other people. In fact, you'd be more than happy to step on and over other people if the government promises you a little piece of the pie. You call new democrats hypocritical but when liberals do the exact thing or worst, you deny it and call anything you disagree with fake news LOL. You're getting your feelings hurt while people are dying and have been oppressed in this province for years. Yeah it's only a big deal when it happens to you, we know. —Disgusted
