Here's an idea...How about those who vote in an election are saved to the voter registry and are automatically allowed to vote in the next election.  Those who didn't vote, for whatever reason, are removed from the voter registry and must submit an application if they wish ever to vote again. That way those who care enough to vote will be automatically allowed to do so and those who don't care must jump through some hoops to reinstate their right to vote. Sort of a "If you don't use it, you lose it" proposal. —SnipeHunter

Just sitting here reading about the lack of participation in the recent Nova Scotia provincial election and how it seems to be a mystery to most people. Why aren't people coming out to vote? I think the message is clear. We don't trust any of the leaders or parties and we don't care enough to waste our time voting when we're going to be subject to the same shit and broken campaign promises, also known as lies, no matter who gets in. Sound about right? —One of the 53 percent

The family court system in Halifax is a joke. It favours women waaaaay too much, and not in a good way. Paying child support for a kid that lives with you to a mother that has nothing to do with the child is ridiculous. And when you have shared custody, no one should pay child support. But yet I have friends that are in both of these situations. I also have a friend whose baby mother claims the kids on her taxes but never even sees the kids other than Christmas. Too many lazy women in this city that think they should get paid for having a baby. Also too many dead beat women that think our taxes should pay for their babies instead of them getting a job. —Fed-up Dad

Why have an “Election Day” when polls are open for weeks before the day the votes are finally counted? Sounds more like Election Month. Have an actual Election Day with one day of advance polling. —The End

People risk their lives running to get a bus here! Buses travel in such large packs, it seems like buses are gang banging each other. I should've listened to the warnings not to move to the land of minimum wage AKA Nova Scotia. On a more positive topic, the bus drivers all seem very friendly. —You're the reason I take anger medication

If you don't vote, that is your right. That is entirely your right to exercise or choose not to exercise. However, people don't have to act like they respect your apathy. —One of the 53 percent

Your children do not have the right to disturb my peace. They can screech in your house, not in our adjoining back yards. You know my feelings on noise; it was quiet before you moved here. It will remain that way, even if I must make noise complaints. And I will. Yes, and you know I will. —Take heed…

I am a recently transitioned woman to man. As such, I feel that there is a need to install tampon dispensers in all washrooms, regardless of the sign on the door. This is 2017 after all, all should have equal access. —Make it so

We have the same job title and duties but you earn more than I do. Your 40 years in the workforce is worth more than my experience. Except you speak only one language, can't answer the phone or answer an email. Stop expecting me to do your work. —Retire already
