I was shocked and disgusted to hear about the vandalizing of 29-ish HRM bus shelters a couple of weeks back, with tons of broken glass to clean up and replace.  But isn't it time HRM started making bus shelters out of UNBREAKABLE material?  What about the plexiglass-type stuff they use in hockey arenas?  Also known as common sense. —Long-time transit rider

While Burger week is an awesome way to raise funds for Feed Nova Scotia it is also a great way to highlight the shitty, half assed effort of our city's older, failing restaurants. I was nothing short of disgusted browsing the grey, overexposed photos submitted to the causes website. At least wipe your greasy finger prints off the lens before taking the photo. For those of you raving about your "history" and a loyal clientele - it's the age of social media, get in the game or move on out - you're dragging yourself down. —The Burgerbitch

I hate when I am asked over and over for something or to do something and when I answer NO the other person goes on "please, please, please" after hearing it over and over. Makes my anxiety go crazy and I try so hard not to snap! —My Answer is No

So I work at a local business in the north end, and something that I hate is when people come in drunk. We have a lot of bars in the north end and a lot of people who enjoy to drink, and almost like clock work we get one or two people who come in completely smashed, and I'm forced to be the bad guy who has to kick them out. We’ve dealt with people yelling, knocking over displays and flat out stealing in front of me…I was going to put up a sigh to say "drinking is done at the bar not our store" but the boss said it would look bad on us...I wish I could to deter this in some fashion. I’m honestly tired and frustrated. —Someone who doesn't get paid enough

Why are there so many “photographers” at every event and concert in this city? We all know the trend of today—everyone and their dog is a photographer now but why do we need 10 amateurs with a DSLR walking around a stage like they own it? They are not respecting the performance or the audience; they wear distracting clothes and actually talk to their fellow-photographer friends throughout the show!  This has been my experience attending events ranging from intimate theatre concerts to public shows at Grand Parade Square to so many other music and art venues around the city.

What happened to quality over quantity? I do see the attraction for promoters to give a press-pass to a bunch of millennials with a huge Instagram following but Halifax, show some respect to the people who paid and showed up to enjoy the show. —doitfortheart

Whatever idiot that started this BOGO crap should be shot in the eye with a ball of his own excrement. Of course, if I buy one, I expect to get one. If it is a sale (at an inflated price) and I get an additional one then it is BOGT Buy one get two or BOGOF Buy one get one free.

What the hell are the two of us going to do with two five-pound bags of apples. If you want me to shop at your store, give it to me at half the usual price and quit expecting me to carry your inventory. —dan-da-man

My boyfriend recently returned  from a seven-month deployment with the royal Canadian navy. After a long day of work we met up for a much deserved beer at a Spring Garden drinking establishment . After getting settled in our booth we were approached by a waitress and asked to present our IDs when ordering drinks. Promptly we showed our IDs, me a driver’s license and him a military ID. We ran into an issues at this point, the waitress  was convinced my boyfriends military ID card was not "an official government ID" and he was denied a drink. We were both pretty put off and confused because we had never run into any issues with him using his military ID as a form of "official government ID" anywhere else. I can honestly say neither one of us is hyper pro-military, but I have respect for his job and the conditions he accepts that go with it, but we have had pretty opposing experiences to this everywhere else when he uses military ID and I feel rightly so. All that aside, we are both preeeeeetty sure that military ID is official government ID. The whole situation was a pretty bad start to our evening after a long day. —Confused Pacifist

We welcome everyone to have a bit of “craic” this St Patrick's Day and will politely acknowledge how your great-great grandfather's goldfish was Irish, but please, for the love of jaysus, it's Paddy NEVER Patty! Yes of course I'm sure, since I was, y'know, born and raised there for feck's sake…Sláinte. —Frustrated Ulsterman Correcting Knowledge

The corruption in our judicial system is sickening. It is a business developed to legally steal people's money while they unnecessarily drag cases on while they charge the hard working people of this province for their games. Ever tried making a complaint with the Barristers Society? The whole system needs a over haul! Judges making ignorant and inappropriate comments should be fired immediately. You do no deserve to be making decisions for people you can't even speak to properly. Remember we pay for your services stop playing god! We do have a right to question a judge and we will! —Send them to sensitivity training camp!
