To the beautiful woman that was at max plums with her mother after the concert.. We could have talked for hours but it was closing time and you had to go. I can't get you off of my mind and was hoping that maybe just maybe you would pick up the paper and think of me!! Till I see you again my fair maiden —Mr west coast

Thank you not only for your warm smile when I got on the bus but also for checking in with the elderly riders to make sure they didn't miss their stops. Also for getting off the bus all together to carry off one woman's walker and then taking her hand and helping her down the steps. —Your kindness made my day

I seen you on the bus a few times and waiting for bus. You always wear earphones and sometimes look grumpy. Most times you are dancing along to your music and look like you have a lots of confidence. I wish you would look at me to see your pretty eyes. I like you're hat —I bet you're hat keeps a lots of people away

As I got into my vehicle after the Moosehead game Friday night, I let out a defeated *sigh* as I noticed a ticket in my front wiper... but it wasn't! It was $5! Thank you generous stranger! —pleasantly surprised

I feel like you deserve a love so this is for you... the cute blonde I sat next to on Wednesday who got out at Scotia Square who works at a certain purveyor of produce. I'm sorry we didn't have more time to chat but... maybe you were relieved and couldn't wait to get the hell out of there! Haha. Either way you restored my faith in humanity a bit and I had a smile the rest of the way home. Thanks for that at least :) —Coast lover

As the rainy autumnal months, I feel I need to extend a big ol' thank you to The Coast. Not for its critique of city's infrastructure, reviews of art exhibitions or its annual Best of Halifax campaign (though I do very much appreciate those as well) but for its utility as an all-purpose shoe dryer. Being a student, I'm poor and don't have the money to replace my many-holed shoes. Because of The Coast's ubiquity around town, I'm able to completely dry my shoes near every night. Though I'd prefer to simply buy new shoes or even be able to find a job that works with the schedule I need to keep because of my field of study, our weekly arts paper's there for me in this time in my life. Sadly, I had to use the paper I usually save for thumbing through during the week along with the lone one I used to be able to distribute between both shoes because of its recently reduced content; I don't know what the future holds for you or your contributors, The Coast, but you'll always have a place in my heart as the paper that introduced me to Savage Love, made me laugh and cry with True Story, helped me find more great stuff to see at the AFF and kept my feet dry. —Penniless Acting Student
