I can't use names on here... gotta follow the rules (grrrr) but we have been exchanging glances across a certain crowded food court for months now. There's an obvious attraction on both of our parts, and I can't seem to stop thinking about you, no matter how hard I try. Just when I've finally worked up the nerve to approach you, you seem to be M.I.A. the last few days. Be patient with me... I will introduce myself eventually. Until then, I'll just have to be happy with the stolen glances in the lineup at Tim's. :) —Me With The Auburn Hair And The Caffeine Addiction

We met briefly outside the venue before a "hip" concert. I just wanted to say that you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. — CHH

I know, I know, the distance is bogus; but you are so unbelievably worth it. I really think one day I'll marry your adorable elf self. I have been working hard on being a cool individual, so watch out! You got one strong ass lady coming your way. Thank you for believing in me and trusting my judgement and lifestyle. I look forward to a lovey dove summer filled with bike rides and Cindy Lauper with a side of hog ties and spankings. Halifax loves you, Toronto needs you; I will be waiting patiently for a tsunami to bring us closer together. Even without the tsunami, I just want you to know I am really, really happy. See you soon fairy boy! — Your Hali Lover

To my new favourite Haligonian,

So i was coming over the bridge in a snowstorm and my loonie got stuck in a little film of snow on the inside of the money basket. Of course, the gate was up, I didn't realize and drove straight through and set off the alarm. One of the bridge guys waved me on (and a dick in an Audi was honking his fool ass off) so I took off like a thief toward the horizon. On the way back I decided to explain myself, since I had to get change anyway and wanted to make sure I hadn't risked a ticket. And there you were. I explained my story to you, you handed me my toonie back and said "No problem. You go on through. For your trouble." and you smiled at me very kindly. Not once did you suspect I might be just some ass trying to get a free pass.

See to lots of people this is a little thing but sometimes a little act of kindness has a huge impact. You knew I had trouble coming through but what you DIDN'T know is that after years of illness, a new and scary (and potentially terminal) diagnosis, I had recently landed a brand new job where I'm making a shit load of money suddenly. Of course I haven't been paid yet, am struggling to stretch out the last of my money before my first pay, and that was tomorrow's coffee money - coffee I had given up to make this trip across the bridge to look at a new apartment.

Because of you, I got coffee in the morning and on top of all the fear, changes, stress and excitement in my life, this means I have at least one more day of coffee before my first pay arrives. You helped me stretch my pittance forward to my very first paycheque on this super-awesome job. Which is not only awesome but a huge boost of confidence.

You made me feel super-happy, totally listened to and you can have no idea how much I appreciate that one little kind gesture. It really did mean the world to me. Someday I'll find a way to bestow a little kindness on you because.. —I Never Forget A Face :)

To the older guy at the bar on Saturday Night dancing to dubstep, techno and other electronically created music. Thank you! You made mine and my friends night, we've dubbed you Techno Grampa and hope you continue to dance like nobody is watching! All the best! —1/3rd The Age, Not Nearly As Cool

You're the peanut butter to my chocolate - the dark toast to my eggs and the spinach to my smoothies. Third time's a charm baby. —Will You Be My Funny Valentine?

Toblerones, tears, triumphs and tribulations got nothing on us. You are my rock - thank you for the countless calls, cuddles and caring. We may be missing the crew but I've never been happier to have you. — Couch Dweller #2

You make everyone's day so much better without even trying, and I admire you so much for that. I've fallen so hard for you, and your laugh, and the little hop in your step...even for your terrible attempt at southern accents. If only I was a bit better with words, so i could explain just how much you mean to me. —Can't Get Enough Of You
