I know the chances of you reading the Coast are slim- fate that you read it, or fate that you don't? Meeting you made me feel out of control and it was amazing. I thought I was incapable of caring back and because of that, I try and be thankful for the feeling I had and not dwell on the one I have now. Why you left is part of the reason I care so much for you- I just want you to know, in this public, but private way (that you likely won't see), that I still really miss you. —Poison and Wine

How I love thou. Your Chicken Biryani's are like fireworks to my taste buds. You yield flavour, excitement and unrelenting joy. Your luscious chicken, moist basmati rice, and your succulent spices leave me wanting more. When I’m left without this meal, the day soldiers on in an agonizing struggle. In waiting, I find my daily direction and concentration lacking in your absence. Yet upon my return to your fateful establishment, I am met with an overwhelmingly delicious aroma, courteous service, and a flavour sensation so deeply satisfying that my taste buds are left in a state of pure ecstasy. Yet even sweeter than the chutney, is the moment that I turn to my receipt. At the point of sale I was so intoxicated with the knowledge that I was about to consume a meal so divine that I was rendered useless, and realized the price was an inadequate reflection of the quality. My friends, if beautiful quality, and ethnicity are what you desire, then a taste of this will make you perspire. —Murray, Lover of Curry

To all the beautiful people who got out and shook their tail feather at the Prohibition Swing Dance, THANK YOU! Swing dance is not about being anachronistic or ironic - it's about joy and rhythm and communication. Thank you to the Jubilee Swing Orchestra for existing. And to all the cats and chicks in the Swing Dance Society, t'ain't whatcha do, it's who you do it with. Let's explode the swing scene in Halifax. —Lindy

Hi lady with the long dark hair who rocks out on her morning walk down Bedford Highway. I see you many mornings, rain, sleet or snow. You have your headphones on and you are just givin er power walking. You're usually around Tremont Street area at around 7am and I've seen you up on Dunbrack too. You are an inspiration and always make me smile, singing along to your tunes. I look forward to seeing you! Rock on! —Making the Day a Little Brighter, One Smile at a Time

I thought when I left HRM 7 months ago, for a small town life in another province, it would do my soul good... all the quiet and fresh air and all!
But not so much! I have missed transit, and theatre, and walking trails, and beaches, and fresh pita bread! Not to mention all the great restaurants, bars and coffee shops...
The thought of missing Natal day, and Alexander Keith's Birthday was too much to bare, but no more... end of April and I am there! This is a great day! —So Flippin' Happy

Thank you for six wonderful years, my favourite Maritime town. I will miss you. I will also miss all of the people I've encountered throughout my time here. I am especially thankful for the people I've met in the last 6 months, who made my remaining days so fucking fantastic.
Lots of LOVE to the villagers, to my librarian nerds, to my loyal groups, and to everyone I've encountered along the way. Take all kinds of care. —Some Badass Dragon

Halifax, I love you. I knew it at first sight. I spent some time getting to know you and I've seen what you have to offer: vibrant arts and music scene; fun and friendly people; great micro-brews; laid-back vibe; beautiful lakes and the Atlantic coast. I know you're a little bit smaller, maybe a little less 'bustling' (read: stressful) than a certain not-to-be-named southern Ontario city where I currently live. But really, that simply adds to your charm. I know you've got it going on Halifax but will you help convince my SO? He called you 'sleepy', you're not going to stand for that are you? I'm not. —TO Transplant
