It cost me $228 to replace a flat tire on my car. How awful.
You made my day a little better though by giving me a free wiper that dearly needed replacing. I know it may not seem like much but the gesture was so appreciated by me! You're so kind, lots of karma for you!! —Eager For My Keys

I am truly touched at the spirit of camaraderie I've been seeing in this city since the start of the strike. In any other city selfishness would have increased but not ol' Halifax! People offering rides for nothing... Overnight ride shares springing up all over the place. Even the local radio station has gotten involved (check out live105 for more info).
I have even heard of food zones springing up here and there for those who cannot make it to the grocery store or food bank.
It is reminiscent of the sense of community that evolved after hurricane Juan (which devastated me so I can recount the kindness I received firsthand). Regular heroes came out of the woodwork without a second thought to help those of us who were left without food or a home, who had flooded or had lost essential items. Looks like that attitude of neighbourly concern hasn't changed one bit.
And to top it all off, seeing the jaunty strolls and packs of (new?) friends strolling over the bridge, the numbers rivaling the Spring Garden Road strolling district and how happily and healthily they were handling their fate made me weep a little.
We are a resilient city. We are an opportunistic city. We are a city with a fucking awesome attitude.
Atta'girl Halifax! It's why I'm proud to call you home. —A Fellow Walker

Thank you so much for inviting me in to your super comfy bed. It sucks me in every time. I get lost in it and never want to get out. Your dog is the same way. Lost in a Fury of comfort. —Your Bearded Dude

Is there anything more sappy than submitting a "love" to the girl you care about the most? If there is, I will probably figure it out and do that, too. Aw shucks, you're beautiful, smart, sexy and a great cook. Your devil dog can be kind of smelly sometimes but I like him too. My friends think you're awesome and so do I. Don't smile. —J.L.

I was looking back to see if you were looking back to see, if I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me. You were cute as you could be, standing looking back to see if I was looking back to see if you were looking back at me. <3 Happy Valentine's Day, Hali. —Cindy Lu
