Before you blow all that change on the flowers and chocolates remember the greatest gift we have to share is the quality of our heart. The most important quality being compassion, not just for those close to us but for all. Happy Valentine's to all. —M.N.W

I really hope you do not feel sad or alone this Valentine's Day because you are amazing and I sincerely hope you know that. The fact that you love and respect yourself truly shows that self-love is the greatest way to find true love. You don't need anyone to make you feel beautiful or special because you are. Love yourself because if you don't, how can you expect anyone else to love you? You can search across the universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, but you will not find that person anywhere. I hope you take this "holiday" to reflect on how wonderful your life is. You have a beautiful soul that should be celebrated. You don't need a man to show you all the ways of love because the strongest type of love is taught, celebrated, and learned thyself. —Your Secret Admirer

Halifax, I want to thank you for being my one, true home. No matter how often I say I need to leave (because sometimes, it just has to happen), you're here when I come back, welcoming, and will always be the city I love most. The people I've met throughout my life here are unforgettable, wonderful people. The scenery and landscape of nearly every part of the city are beautiful and still hold so much mystery to me. My house, my cats, my friends, my school, my cafes... everything about this city is home. Thank you. —MARI

To the dark haired girl I see walking her shaggy grey dog every day at lunchtime past the Hydrostone Market: I think you are magnificent. Every day when I see you and your pooch walk by it makes me smile. You are beautiful, and your canine companion is pretty cute too. —Sylvio

You are always so charming and sweet and today you were so funny, I just smiled all day. I will never tell you what an enormous crush I have you because I'm too scared, but I'll say it here: you are my favourite person I see everyday and you are so cute it is basically impossible! —Intimidated and Shy

We met. We spoke. Since meeting, we've hung out again and again and again. There was a dinner, a drive down the shore and a long conversation by the fire. There have been email exchanges, phone conversations and brunches. I could go on and on because it sometimes feels like I've known you longer. But I have only two words: thank you. —Cartwheelsforever

I know lots of people are being very negatively affected by the transit strike - I do truly feel bad for them. I thought the 6km walk to and from work would be terrible, however I have been enjoying every minute of it! The fresh air... the time to clear my head and think about whatever I want... feeling more energetic... and I lost 3lbs in the last week! I do realize that this is an essential service for some, but for those of you who can - get out and enjoy it! —Crazy Legs

I love that you and your coworkers at the busy coffee place on the departures level at the airport have a perfect view of the beautiful sunrise through the large windows across the boarding lounge and I love that you take the time to point it out to your customers, who otherwise might be too preoccupied to notice. Thank you! —High Flyer

I don't know anything about you. I've only seen you twice and maybe you didn't notice me either time. You're kinda small with long hair and always wearing a brimmed hat and period style clothing with a messenger bag. Ive seen you down at the Seaport and as well on Granville St. outside the NSCAD building. I would love to know more about you. —Intrigued

We revealed our feelings for one another on a bus packed full of athletes, we went on a date - coffee in hand - to a parking lot "cliff" (So romantic) and we never know where either of our cell phones are (soooo indie).

I messed up and didn't open up enough for you at the time. I realize this now and miss you very much and always have.

Your friendship was the best thing that's ever happened to me. —The One Who Let "The One Who Got Away" Get Away
