I told you a while ago I couldn't support you anymore, because it wasn't my responsibility considering the change between us. Which is true in some right and I was/still am very hurt and trying to look out for number one, ya know?

This past week was really trying, and you crossed my mind almost everyday. But it didn't feel right to reach out to you for support considering how curt I was. So this is more of a subtle poke your direction. You never really read these posts, but if you do, and you feel like sharing a dart and talking through some feels give me a call. If not–that's okay too. –A

Thanks to the teachers for standing up to the government to get a fair pay raise and to stop the government's attacks on the labour movement.

Hopefully the deal negotiated doesn't have any zeroes in it but fills in the first 2 years with at least half a percent raise each while keeping (or making better) the 1% and 1.5% in the 3rd and 4th years.

It may be that there is some room for negotiating on the size of the long service award but public sector workers should have one.

If the wage package does have zeroes in it and/or the long service award has been taken away, I hope that the teachers will vote it down like they did before. Public sector workers deserve to be treated fairly and hopefully the teachers are helping to make that happen. –Person thanking teachers

There I was, shooting my big f-ing mouth off, long after my divorce, eager for a “big change” in my life. I got right down to it, through a moment of clarity and, with a firm grip on both my own reality in one hand and the fixed notion of big change in the universe with the other, I commanded the universe. In the space of that perfect moment, I knew my will had bent time and space. It's what brought our paths to cross. —A paper rose on a railing will show you the way

I came into work blue mad. I was in the back frowning, silently cursing and doing my job. Everyone was ignoring me—of course that's only natural, I was being pretty bitchy. One of my co-workers was there in the back, just me and him. He hooked up his phone to the radio/player thing to play his tunes and one of the first songs he played was a favourite of mine: Little Spanish Flea. Well, I smiled and I was instantly cheered. I thanked him and told him I felt better and he gave me one of his rare, beaming smiles and said: "That's what I was trying to do." Just when you think no one really gives a f*** about how you feel, someone shows they care in their own little way. —Cranky Co-worker

A huge thank you to whoever handed my iPhone into the SUB help desk. I thought it was gone forever along with the recent videos of my two-year-old opening his Christmas presents on it. You made my day more than you know and I am definitely being more careful with it in future! —Faith Restored

Thank you to the two people who stopped and shovelled the long end of my driveway near the park on Sunday.  You were right, I would have been out there long after dark and I went to bed rested instead of exhausted.  Thank you! —Long Driveway

A merry smile, jaunty lit-up holiday hat, and suitcase full of candy canes isn't what I expect when I get the bus—but you were as everywhere as Santa, seeming to be driving every route I took. Thank you for sharing the warmth of your spirit! —CJ

Every Thursday I immensely look forward to reading you! This new year's break in publication has reminded me how much less connected Halifax would be without you. Please never disappear, I like rustling paper not booping phones. –neat gal who's neater due to you
