The English Beat were Great! And a big thank you to the folks responsible for bringing them to perform.

Thanks to The Beat for coming too as one show had been canceled earlier this year. You guys rocked and the age range of the crowd reflected the appreciation for your talent.

Way to go everyone who made it happen! I had a chance to enjoy them with several friends, who I don't see regularly. Keep bringing great talent to Halifax guys.

P.S. the band from NFLD were awsome too! you should get them back soon! —Fans of The English Beat!

First, thank you to the stranger who contacted me about my lost bus pass/student ID/gym membership. I dropped all 3 in the Black Market and thought they were gone forever. I really appreciate that this stranger did not keep them.

Second, to the bus driver who helped the elderly man cross the street on Thursday. When the man got off the bus, it was clear that he had recently gone blind and was having a hard time finding his way around. This heroic bus driver stopped the bus and helped the elderly man through traffic and to his destination.

It's people like this that make me love Halifax. I hope Karma has some wonderful things in store for you two! —LovesKindnessOfStrangers

After two weeks on vacation, I return to a city with dismal, chilly weather, and a job I can barely stand. Yet The Coast lovin' and bitchin' makes things a bit easier. (Mos of) You guys rawk. —*Mind Snap*

Thanks for coming to Halifax before May long weekend. It's been a while, and my last few experiences of your brilliance were tarnished - fraught with Calgarian apathy among the audience in that lame town.

Welcome home, can't wait to hear your new stuff live. And in a fun city. —Sully

Driving to work this morning my car decided to blow a tire on the churned up blacktop of the 102. Managed to make it to the shoulder and stood for an hour trying to figure out what to do... no cell, and where the hell is the jack for this car? As car after car of people drove by some looked at me and some didn't... I waved my arms, made the international sign for "Sweet lord, someone call the cops"... to no avail.

Then, as I sat in my car trying to figure out just how far it would be to walk to a service station a red chariot appeared before me carrying an angel. This angel asked me what she could do for me. I asked if I could use her cell. She didn't have one. She went to her vehicle and pulled everything out of the back, located her jack, but couldn't get it unlocked.

From there she proceeded to ask me where I worked, drove me in and came inside to vouch for my mishap with my boss who is a pussy-cat and was more worried about me than anything. I spent the day with a warm and fuzzy feeling in my heart and even smiled at the tire dude as I handed over every cent I had...

so, thank you T. in the cherry red Nissan Cube! You saved me and a near disaster turned out to be a blast!—No more bald tires for me!

... and to add to the jaw-dropping weird day, Dear Cletus, was that after over hearing your conversation at Canadian Tire, and walking away, then randomly deciding, "Hm, Moxies looks alright" and going out of my way, only to run into you and hear that your day was much the same, riddled with cosmic happenings, to having a great laugh, and an entirely new spin to what was a pretty dreary day... was that after getting your phone number, and returning home... someone spilled their drink, amazingly, on my new-to-me phone.

So Cletus, if you read this in Tantallon, do actually call me first, wouldya?

"Who's this?" "You should know." —Scruff in a Swanky Suave Bar (and feelin fine)

We're worlds apart now but I'm still thinking of you, missing your humour and that spark we both felt. We played games with each others hearts and minds, why I will never completely know but I wanted to tell you that I forgive you for everything - for not saying goodbye, for leading me astray. I was guilty too.

Though I may never understand why things turned out the way they did, I realize you're a beautiful, complicated mess, one whose quirks and eccentricities I always adored. Even when I pretended you weren't there, said things I didn't mean, acted foolish or awkward, you were something real to me.

I'll always be here if you decide to open that door again, and if not you will remain in my heart. I hope if I wronged you that you can someday forgive me.

I wasn't ready to open up when you were; when I did it was too late, and that is my only regret. This may be the closest that I'll ever get to a real goodbye so I hope you're able to see this. You mean so much more to me than you'll ever know. —Stranger
