Ahead of Time: The Extraordinary Journey of Ruth Gruber screening
The Atlantic Jewish Film Festival continues with this screening of the 2009 doc sharing the life story of Ruth Gruber, the world's youngest PhD earner, the first journalist to enter the Soviet arctic and a proud Brooklynite. Called "a feminist before feminism," Gruber covered the Middle East during the 1940s and was pals with President Roosevelt. Here, a blend of interviews and "verité footage of Ruth traveling back to Israel" tells her story.
