Animals as Legal Persons?: A Film Screening and Panel Discussion

While monkeys are not humans, they could be people. Nope, this isn't riddle, it's a discussion of cognitively complex species (like great apes, whales, dolphins, elephants) having the legal rights of personhood. This documentary screening follows the fight to legally protect these creatures, and is followed by a panel discussion with those at the forefront of the fight—including Miami, Florida lawyer Steven Wise and the founder of Canada's only chimpanzee sanctuary, Gloria Grow.
