Mixed-media sculptor Anna Hepler uses a wide variety of materials to create pieces that are "unassuming but enigmatic visual language." By following a well-honed instinct, she lets artistic experiments blend from one medium to the next: A collaged image becomes a woodcut that is then printed to fabric and the fabric is sewn into a sculpture. These mutations in form allow her to make one material look like something else. The result? quietly thoughtful pieces that demand a long look.
