Can't Stop The Serenity

Can't Stop the Serenity is back for its sixth year this Friday and Saturday to raise funds for Equality Now and Avalon Centre.

Never heard of the event? It's an annual screening of Joss Whedon's sci-fi movie Serenity and this year it's taking place at the Carbon Arc's new home.

In addition to the screening, there will be door prizes, a trivia contest, a silent auction of Firefly merchandise and bonus Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog screening.

Can't Stop the Serenity is a global event and in the past has raised over half a million dollars for Equality Now, one of Mr. Whedon's favorite charities, as well as other selected charities.

Equality Now aims to "document violence and discrimination against women" and protests against human rights violations.
