Common Threads: Mayann Francis and Shauntay Grant in Discussion

Billed as an exploration of " the historic and modern day significance of textiles," this presentation examines two textile-based gallery exhibits: Mayann Francis' The Dress: Mayann Francis and the Call to Serve and Shauntay Grant's Stitched Stories: The Family Quilts. Both collections present the cultural significance of fabric and garments, from Francis' wardrobe as Lieutenant Governor to Grant's family quilts and the folklore stitched into them.
