It's time to face it: We're never going to see the day when French DJ duo Daft Punk flies around the world to land in Halifax. Luckily, Humber musicians Michael Carrillo (drums), Liam Morin (bass), Michael Eckert (guitar/funktronics), Matthew Giffin (keyboards), Nevin Dunn (tenor sax/EWI), La-Nai Gabriel (alto sax/vocals), James Ervin (robot/trumpet/tambourine/EWI), Joanna Mohammed (vocals) and Ryan Spratt (vocoder, laser noises) make up the nine-member Daft Punk Tribute band from Toronto that's bringing it's always sold-out shows to the Forum this Friday. It's their third performance since 2008, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Los Primos Project in Halifax. With a band that has funktronics, robot and laser noises on their roster of instruments and talents, how can you go wrong? Fasten your robot helmets and hang on tight. –Holly Gordon
