Between 15 and 20 vendors appear in winter and up to 50 in the spring, bearing baskets full of fresh, local vegetables and naturally produced meat products. The market has seen the farmers age, but new producers are always coming. The market has a huge base in the Mennonite community and, of course, all their farming practices are community-based and pesticide free. The Waffle Experience has set up shop at the Dartmouth Farmers' Market, which runs Saturdays, 8am-1pm at Alderney Landing. The new waffle joint has four flavours to choose from: traditional, apple walnut & blackberry, orange-lavender and chocolate overload (for the sweet-toothed among you). You should watch out for the occasional limited-time or seasonal flavour as well. The Waffle Experience offers the goods in frozen form too, just in case you're not quite hungry enough to eat a freshly-made waffle while perusing through the market.
