Donair, the Musical

Donair the Musical is an exciting, heart-warming, hilarious tale of how the Donair came to Cape Breton in the 1970s from Halifax. Written by Paul MacDougall, with all new songs and original music by Duncan Wells. Directed by Carol Anne Gillis with musical direction by Adam Young it has an all Cape Breton cast of accomplished actors and technical people. Rather than a history, the musical is a homage to a truly Nova Scotian original food and the people, small shops and businesses that gave it its sweet and saucy start.
