In tangent with her current MSVU Art Gallery exhibit
clearing, mixed-media Indigenous artist Carrie Allison hosts a trio of drawing workshops focusing on photosensitive techniques. The all-levels, non-consecutive sessions kick off with a walk through a nearby clearcut site, which acts as inspiration for he group's sketches. "En route and on site, the group may discuss the impacts of clear cutting, private vs. public property, western ideas of owning land and Indigenous understandings of stewardship and living with the land," the gallery adds. Then, it's back to the gallery to see how Allison crafts her drawings of deforestation. Email
