Join Nova Scotia’s Chief Public Health Officer in a conversation about the ethical tensions that exist in the increasing demand for expensive medical interventions at the cost of funding social programs which contribute to health and wellbeing.

Can we afford the latest new technologies, decreased wait times, and costly drugs when an investment in preventative measures such as education, access to affordable childcare, and guaranteed minimum wage could ultimately require fewer expensive medical interventions?

With finite resources, how do we balance the immediate needs of the individual with the future needs of the broader community?
