Day of Peace Come and join us at Halifax City Hall to view the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Poster Display. Donated by the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, the 30 posters tell the story of how the atomic bombs were created, the impact of the explosions and why our concern about nuclear war can motivate us for action and peacebuilding. Let us learn from the events of August 6, 1945 ( Hiroshima) and August 9, 1945 (Nagasaki). The two bombs together killed more than 210,000 civilians - women, children, seniors, Koreans, Chinese, American prisoners of war, and others.
