Inside Out: Blake/Granelli/Granelli
NYC-based saxophonist Michael Blake is one of the brightest young stars in jazz, renowned for his spectacular tone, versatility and distinct musical voice. He'll be making his Halifax debut with Halifax-based percussion legend Jerry Granelli and celebrated New York-based bassist J. Anthony Granelli.
Inside Out refers to the practice of playing inside a musical structure then moving outside of the form, expanding and changing it through improvisation. Blake, Granelli, and Granelli are masters of this art form, ensuring a dynamic and exciting performance.
