Three exceptionally talented Nova Scotian actors share the stage in Valley Summer Theatre’s production of Daniel Macvor’s Marion Bridge. Francine Deschepper plays Agnes, a struggling actor with a drinking problem who's come home from Toronto to join sisters Theresa (Keelin Jack), a rigid nun facing a crisis of faith, and the slightly slow and childlike Louise (Stephanie MacDonald) as they sit vigil over their mother’s dying days. There is a beautiful and believable evolution for each character in the play, with Agnes slowly embracing responsibility at the same time that Theresa relaxes and softens and Louise tentatively spreads her wings. Each has the opportunity to shine a monologue that is both poetic and packed with emotional honesty, and shine they do. Brilliant and beautiful. —Kate Watson
