The African Nova Scotian painter continues her stride from emerging artist to heavyweight: Since her first solo exhibition, Mommay’s Patches landed her on the cover of The Coast’s 2019 New Art issue in February, she graduated from NSCAD, continued to slay, and now, returns with a new exhibit at the MSVU Art Gallery. Expect the same emotive portraits she’s becoming beloved for to be on deck—as well as the rich textile backgrounds she’s quickly made her signature.
