Parasite

In a nameless city in Poland, three nameless characters share a tiny apartment – an old man living out his last days and a young woman with a ravenous newborn baby. Parasite is a nearly dialogue-less feature film from Anka and Wilhlem Sasnal, in which the non-verbal sound and 16mm images walk the line between surrealism and kitchen-sink realism in presenting the creators’ hopeless vision of post-communist Poland. Parasite premiered at Berlinale and won at Montreal’s Festival du nouveau cinema.
